Kucinich drops presidential bid

Nobody supported him anyway.

I did, but yes, was one of the few.

Though admittedly I was more supporting the idea of being annoyed by the idea that you have to be either for or against Hillary. I'm for ideas, and at least Dennis spoke his mind.

Agreed. Having candidates with non-mainstream views can only be a plus for public debate.

does this help either Obama or Clinton?

half a dozen voters in either direction won't make a big impact.

I'd imagine anyone who was planning on voting for him will either go obama or stay home.

I think he had some good ideas. Just as importantly, he spoke very honestly and in a straight -forward manner.

I suppose since the Dems are now excluding him from the debates there's no longer any real reason for him to continue.

Likely the party establishment (and the 3 big candidates) feels he can only hurt them now. I found him particularly effective at pointing out the flaws and hypocracy in their UHC proposals (a big hand-out to big corporate health insurance companies and medical care providers etc).

I did think some of his ideas were a bit extreme, but I liked the fact that he freely spoke his mind. Very few candidates are as open as he was.

This has about as much effect as Duncan Hunter endorsing Huckabee.

i know, i just thought it needed to be in the P&N record of the 2008 election discussion

he is the one that saw a UFO, right?

Sucks when the guy that got it right everytime doesn't have a chance.
Well the American people seem to be attracted to whatever draws us closer to the USD being worth less then the peso so that nobody can leave this bloody place.

I was really sad to hear this today, but like you guys said, there wasn't much point if he couldn't participate in the debates. It just goes to show you how much control the media has over who gets heard. With him gone, I won't be voting my conscience this election cycle. I'll probably be voting against a candidate, which is what most of us do anyway.

I agree, Kucinich has a history of being right and I would be happy to vote for him. But when the guy is getting a consistent 1% of the primary votes in a 4 person field, you know
he is wasting his time just casting pearls before swine. Its now difficult to see what Kucinich could have won by staying in a hopeless race, but he did put his hat in the ring.

I wonder how this affects the New Hampshire recount he called for. I really want to see the results of that.

Between Kucinich and Thompson, we have lost the two hottest would-be first ladies in the field this week - d'oh!

Ah but viva the difference in them hot wives. Now that that ultimate bully in the American electorate has kicked the sand in Fred's and Dennis's eyes, and they are therefore both emasculated, can a 98 pound weakling mental midget such as myself thereby have a chance of stealing one or both hot wives?

Well probably not, but I can dream. Please don't dash my dreams with a yeeech GWB.

On Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me this weekend, they called Elizabeth Kucinich the woman who would have been "the most smokin' hot first lady since Angelina Van Buren." She would not only have been - by far - the hottest ever first lady, she would certainly have been the first one with a tongue ring.

He was the only candidate I could get really excited about, with Edwards not too far behind. It's sad that our nation is not so good at choosing the best presidents.
