Wow, Missouri has had a lot of penalties. But they still are able to drive down the field.

someone needs to tell the KU qb this isn't the time for 5 yard passes.

I think Kansas's lack of big games this year hurt them. They were obviously jittery in the first half, and dug too much of a hole to get out of. If they played again, I think Kansas would win.

grats to the Missouri fans. KU was flat and Reesing looked scared the 1st half. We choked!

Why couldn't they onside kick the Safety kickoff??

I'm wondering that too...
Wouldn't have done them any good, they were down by more than a touchdown, right?

They were down by a touchdown and a 2pt conversion.

But I guess they gave up by then... plus they were out of timeouts.

If you look at where they kicked off from they were further back then usual for some reason. If they onside kick it there and get it back it would be at around the 40yd line, perfect distance for a hail mary. I don't know, just seems odd to me and I figured there was a rule against it since he didn't go for it.

I was at the game folks. GREAT atmosphere, good game. As a lifelong Mizzou fan, we know better than to get our hopes up. It would be great to beat OU next weekend, but you can't count on it.

I don't think you can onside kick after a safety.

From the OUinsider forums..

Found it..."NCAA Football Rules and Interpretations", Rule 6 "Kicks", Section 1 "Free Kicks".

The kick after a safety *IS* a "free kick". Just like a kick-off after a FG or TD. All the same rules apply except it's kicked from the 20.

They should have done it. Why the hell not?

Just as I thought.. onside kick the damn thing, you're pushed back to your own 20 which makes it an even BETTER situation to do it then normal. Oh well, KU deserves to lose for not being attentive enough to do it then.

The KU o-line got manhandled, which shut down their running game.

Oh yeah, where was KU's pass rush? Chase Daniel had enough time to bake a cake back there. He literally had 9-10 seconds on a couple plays.

Is chop-blocking illegal in college? There was one blatant one early on in the game. I'm not saying they were cheating or anything, just curious (it was the only one I noticed). Also early, Mizzou's blocking plan appeared to be fall down right in front of the KU player, which worked very well.

The KU team that won all those games this season didn't show up until the 4th quarter, and by then it was too late. They still had a chance, but their defense just couldn't make a stand. KU's lines which manhandled almost everyone else this season got shown up. I don't know why they didn't run delayed blitzes or anything like that, which I think would've helped quite a bit.

Those two missed field goals turned out to hurt them a lot, and both were just bad kicks (I don't know why the kicker hooked the second one so far to the left, I guess he thought there was a strong wind). I couldn't figure out why KU kept kicking to the one return guy, but they did a good job covering him later on, but it was stupid especially considering Mizzou knew better than to kick to KU's kickoff return guy.

I agree, that KU not playing in bigger games this season hurt them. It took them too long to settle down. They had similar issues in a couple of games earlier (KSU and OSU, the biggest games they had played up to that point in the season), but settled down and got the job done when they needed to.

I didn't like the game at Arrowhead, not really sure why, it just seemed to lack that college feel to it (probably because the KU fans seemed to barely make any noise). I'm also sick of seeing Carl Peterson's face (they should have had Clark Hunt, not him).
