KT7Raid will or not work with Thunderbird

Yes it does...and Abit is not RELEASING, its been RELEASED a while back. I have a Tbird 1GHz on a KT7-RAID myself. Hope that helps.

I heard they will be available mid January or maybe Feb. I don't think you will have a problem running the 850 on it since review sites have been running Durons on the KT133A at a 133MHz FSB. From ABIT:

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. Thursday, December 21, 2000? ABIT today announces that the popular Socket A motherboards, KT7 and KT7-RAID, are getting an upgrade to the new KT133A chipset from VIA Technologies, Inc. The KT7 and KT7-RAID, the best-performing and most feature-packed motherboards available for Athlon and Duron processors, gain two all-important features from this change: official support for 266MHz front side bus Athlons, and Ultra DMA/100 support on the two native IDE channels. The revisions of these motherboards to this chipset are the KT7A and KT7A-RAID.

The VIA KT133A chipset is comprised of the VT8363A North Bridge controller and the VT82C686B South Bridge controller (as opposed to the VT8363 and VT82C686A chips of the KT133). This ?8363A? North Bridge provides compatibility with 266MHz FSB CPUs. The ?686B? South Bridge adds support for UDMA/100 to the native IDE channels, making the KT7A capable of supporting up to 4 such devices, while the KT7A-RAID is capable of supporting up to 8! The 3 DIMM slots for up to 1.5 GB of SDRAM have been retained.

Moreover, all the great features of the KT7 and KT7-RAID are present: ABIT?s 3-Phase Power solution for better power and temperature management, active cooling on the North Bridge, SoftMenu?III for setting system parameters in a completely jumperless environment, and in the case of the KT7A-RAID, an extra IDE controller to give you room for four more hard drives, as well as IDE RAID capabilities.
