KT7Raid - Can't Use IDE1 and 2 after BIOS Update!!!

Hoping some of you hardware gurus can help!

Just updated Bios to 3R, and while reidentifying the Via Ide Controller, win98SE crashed, BSOD, during boot. Can't get 98 SE to enable the IDE controller (DVD and CDRW), always bsod's at boot. Can't uninstall 4 in 1s, get "Registry Error, please reboot". Disabling IDE 1 and 2 allow boot without problems. Tried 4.25, 4.28, 4.33 drivers.

Please help!

Add to above: The Via Busmaster driver loads at boot OK, then the Primary IDE Channel (dual fifo) is detected, win98se tries to load the driver, then crashes the machine.

Wierd.

In addition, a logged boot has the following 4 lines at the end of the file during one of these crashes:
[000C2D27] Loading PNP drivers of Primary Bus Master IDE controller (dual fifo) (MF\CHILD0000\PCI&VEN_1106&DEV_0571&SUBSYS_05711106&REV_10&BUS_00&DEV_07&FUNC_01)
[000C2D27] Loaded PNP drivers of Primary Bus Master IDE controller (dual fifo) (MF\CHILD0000\PCI&VEN_1106&DEV_0571&SUBSYS_05711106&REV_10&BUS_00&DEV_07&FUNC_01)
[000C2D27] Starting Primary Bus Master IDE controller (dual fifo) (MF\CHILD0000\PCI&VEN_1106&DEV_0571&SUBSYS_05711106&REV_10&BUS_00&DEV_07&FUNC_01)
[000C2D28] Initing esdi_506.pdr

That seems to be the crash point.
