KT7 RAID tbird 900 System acting up

I'm running a 900mhz tbird on KT7 RAID. Last night I added another 256 of pc133 ram. I also made my first attempt at overclocking the cpu. I just increased the multiplier to 10x. System is running cool - 36 degrees. But I'm having random freezes. Think it's the RAM or the OC? I tried increasing the voltage to 1.80, and it was no help. Think I should go to 1.85? Why would that help me anyway? (I don't really understand, I've just read it on the forum.)

Help a newbie overclocker!

Thanks

What is the brand and specs of the newly added 256 module? If it's a cheap one, it may be the culprit of system instability.

what's your bus speed and memory speed at right now? if 1.85 doesn't work, it just might be your chip. try backing it off to 9.5 multiplier.

to determine whether or not it's the new DIMM, keep your system overclocked, but remove the new DIMM you added...reboot, and test the system out...if it's stable, then your system is having conflicts w/ the DIMM...

if it isn't the new DIMM causing the lock-ups, then try bumping your voltage a little more, it won't hurt it...if it still doesn't work, your chip is the ultimate trash for overclocking...

and, you only adjusted the multiplier, not the fsb, so the DIMM wouldn't be the cause due to oc'ing it, if that's what u're thinking...

My memory is running at 100mhz, so I doubt I'm pushing this pc133 to it's limits! I'll try popping out the 256meg DIMM.......ouch that hurts....I doubt it's the OC.

if that doesn't work, i almost forgot - try popping that DIMM in a different slot...

this configuration seems to work (according to ABIT themselves)...1 DIMM in bank 1, and another in bank 3...assuming u have 2 DIMMs only...if not, rearrange them differently.
