Does this board really work?

Situation: I have purchased two of these boards and neither have worked. I had professional services even try. They tried to load Win98, Win2kPro, Win2kAdv, and NT4. All failed with different errors like dmconfig.sys was corrupt, IRQ less than 1, etc. Loading Win2KPro from 2 different CD's gets the same error.

Does anyone have this board working with Windows and Raid? Is there something special you have to do?

The IRQ less then 1 sure sounds familiar. I don't know what other errors you've experienced, but I've seen a lot of different errors with the same OS's you're having trouble with.

The wierd thing is, switching from a matrox G400 to a GeForce 2MX solved all my problems. I change my config a lot and played a little with RAID 0 and 1. No problems at all.

So it MIGHT not be the mobo after all, just a combination af hardware.

If you have an old PCI graphicscard lying around, try to get the system up and running "bare bones".

Just the CD-ROM to install the OS, the HD's to test Raid and the afore mentioned card.


BTW The minimum I've been running:

KT7 - RAID
AOpen CD-ROM
128MB memory
Tseng Labs ET4000
Linux on CD (Live file system)

Everything worked perfectly, so I started switching components. The system crapped out when I swapped in the G400 that's how I figured my problem out. Flashing new BIOSes on the G400 en Mobo and using new drivers didn't help. To this day I can't get the G400 to work. A shame realy, dual head worked a lot better than TwinView does.
