hello,

it finally happened to me. after years of merrily flashing bios after bios, i messed up. :(

so now i am stuck with a beeping kt7 motherboard the refuses to POST.

does anyone have any next steps? having skimmed over those dire bios update warnings, i think i've probably voided my warranty.

are the places which specialize in dealing with problem?

thanks kindly.

What version did you flash to? Did it show any errors when flashing? Some of the recent KT7 BIOS versions have a feature that will shut down the system if the CPU fan cuts out, or if a fan is not installed on the CPU fan header at all, (it has to be on the CPU fan header ) the system will not boot. Make sure that you have a fan installed on the CPU fan header, and give it a try if no actual errors showed up while flashing. On some of the BIOS's, the fan shut down option is enabled by default.

"(it has to be on the CPU fan header ) the system will not boot."

I did that accidentally the first time I put my kt7 together, put it on the other header right next to it. Of course, every abit board I've ever had has had a mind of its own...

well that was interesting.

as it turns out it was the fan1 issue. that's so silly.

as a bonus, when i updated i found that weird scsi bug where it doesn't boot when set to SCSI.

back to UL for me until this is sorted out.

thanks all.

I could be wrong, but I think baring a minor miracle the only solution would be to order a new bios from Asus see here for details.

Kind Regards,
