kt400 & 333 FSB

bought the dragon ultra platinum KT400, DDR333 ram and AMD xp2700. autodetects as XP2100 since the FSB is running at 266 MHZ. the manual states that if the CPU frequency mode is changed manually to run FSB at 333 MHZ, you need to increase the CPU/PCI divider to keep the PCI bus speed running at 33 MHZ. This divider is greyed out in the bios and can't be changed. Does this divider change automatically, do I need to use "overclocker" bios, or something else. I am a newbie and am afraid of frying M/B.

Thanks 😕

change it to 166 and see if hte divider changes (that is if you can physically see the divider, and what its set to)

otherwise its most likely done automatically

you should also become aware of how to clear the CMOS on your motherboard (refer to manual)
if the automatic divider doesnt kick in, this may be needed

//edit
are there any "manual configuration" settings or something like that so that the greyed out option can be accessed?

Also download Sisoft's Sandra 2003 to verify the PCI and AGP settings. Don't use the 2002 version, since it can't correctly 'see' those settings on the new 333 mobos.
