or he may be referring to the RAID variants, hard to tell...
if that's the case i think the soyo dragon + lets you use all 4 connectors for a total of 8 drives.
not all of them have RAID.
 
Well, even the memory slots allow you to use more than 2 at any given time. Let alone the IDE slots. To straight things out, most boards come with 2 IDE slots standard(controlled by southbridge), and as an option, the mobo can have 2 extra IDE slots by integrating a second IDE controller(or RAID controller nowadays). Nowhere does it say you can only use two of them at any given time.
