KT133A+686B+SBLive! bug: Is there a definitive solution?

There are many (and long) posts about this subject. Is there a final, unique and definitive solution to this problem? Any soft patch released by VIA, Creative or others?

What is the status of this trouble shooting today? Finished, on progress, forget and throw your board on the trash, or what?

most motherboard makers have fixed the issue in BIOS releases. There is also a patch by VIA but I'm not really sure.

The Via 4in1 v4.31 drivers included a patch for this issue (it's also in the 4.32), you might also consider getting the lastest BIOS for your motherboard.

I had a super-serious lock-up problem running my Abit KT7A-Raid mobo with my SB Live! X-Gamer 5.1... I installed the latest BIOS and turned the setting "PnP OS Installed" to OFF in the BIOS and never had any problem since. I don't even have the VIA 4in1 patch...

i didnt have the sb+686b problem, UNTIL i installed the 4.31 patch, which was beta anyway. but thats weird.. i installed the 4.32 and NO problems.. so well i suppose its been fixed, good luck..
