KT133 Motherboard owners, what video card are you using?

I set up my friends Duron 700 system with the MSI K7TPro board and Inno 3D Geforce SDR video card and am having problems with Unreal and Quake 3. He was playing Unreal and all of a sudden the video card crapped out, the screen was displaying about half the screen and some parts were missing. Basically it was messed up... The day earlier, he was playing just fine and the system locked up on him. When we rebooted the monitor wasn't displaying anything. We let it sit for a few minutes and it worked, so that had to have been a heating problem because the room was above room temp. But now, no 3D is working, not even the DirectX diagnostic Direct 3D test...it is all garbled.

I have the VIA 4.23 drivers installed and whatever drivers came with the 3D card.

Since I have read of problems with Geforce/MX and KT chipset compatibility probs I'm thinking of telling him to get another video card. So the question, what video cards do you folks with KT133 boards have, and is it working properly?

I may just tell him to get something like that, an older video card. I also have a Duron/K7TPro combo and am running an old, crappy ATI Rage 128 video card and it doesn't screw up either. I could tell him to go the Voodoo route, but I'm not sure yet. He wants 32bit color and doesn't wanna spend something like $150... Anyone out there have a newer ATI video card on a KT133 board?
 
For the first week I ran my old, trusty Diamond Viper TNT2 Ultra on my Duron/Abit KT7, even ran that in AGP4X with no probs. Just got a Hercules Prophet GEForce MX today, again, no probs. Dunno if it makes any diff, but I'm running Win2K not 98.
 
Duron 600/MSI K7T Pro with Asus GeForce2 MX card.

Installed Via's version 4.25 4-in-1 drivers and nVidia's Detonator 2 drivers (5.33) to get games working. Only 3dMark 2K doesn't work.
 
I'm using a newer ATI AGP 4x card (see below) with the latest drivers installed and I have a few minor problems with lockups. I'm assured of lockups when I play Shogun or UT. Diablo II works for a while before it locks up. Sometimes my monitor doesn't turn on when I boot up. Lastly, Realplayer locks up about half of the time.

my Asus A7V and Asus V7700 work very well together.... that may have to do with the fact that are made by the same company tho...


to me it just sounds like the card is overheating? try underclocking... if that works then the cards fubar. at that point it should be RMA'd for a card that can hang @ default speed at any reasonable temp...
 
I have the MSI K7Tpro with Asus V6600. Everything - including AGP4X, sidebanding, fast writes and all games and applications I've tried - have worked perfectly. Only instability problems I've had were with the Detonator 6.18's, I'm using 5.30's now. AGP drivers are the ones that came in the latest VIA 4-in-1 package, haven't really seen a reason to upgrade them.
 
Viper2 and A7V here, but I have slotfan to keep Viper2 cool. Make sure that his vidcard is just not overheating.

Jprod: I heard of some 6.20 drivers that fix VIA problems.
 
Using MSI K7T PRO & one week old Geforce2 MX (overclocked) with Detonator 2, 5.22 drivers no problems at all rock solid,BTW make sure you try the new beta drivers(6.26) or go back to the Detonator 2 series ,there are problems with the 6.xxx drivers on KT133 boards before (6.26).

Geforce 2 MX (200/210), Duron 650@772@1.7 on an A7V, Detonator 6.26, everything runs great, no lockups in games, just some problems with texture on start button and a strange error on shutdown occasionally. So far I've got 3dmark up to 5100+ on default bench, gonna keep trying😛
