With the availability issues getting a 5020 for a decent price, i'm looking into other TVs. I've come across the KRP500 for $2000 shipped with a stand at Vanns.

From the research i've done so far at avsforums, this unit is kind of a mixture between the Signature, elite, and non-elite. It has only 2 HDMI, no speakers, and no tuner. None of which really concern me. As for the picture controls, it has less than elite, but more than the 5020. Plus it is much thinner at 2.5". Here is the avs thread on them:

What do you all think of this as an alternative to the Panny V10 or G10?

It is definitely a winner. I think you summed it up perfectly. Somewhere between a Sig, Elite and the 5020. I'd actually rate it higher than the 5020 because of the extra picture controls. And yes, it is better than the G10 and V10. And for $2000 WITH a stand shipped, I think it is a no brainer. Get it. 😉

Thanks! AVS guys basically said the same thing. I really wasn't looking to buy a TV till I moved, but I chatted with the Vanns people and they only had 5 left in stock. I would have been kicking myself if I wasn't able to get one later. Ordered 🙂

Awesome man! VERY nice choice. Let us know what you think of it when you get it all up and running. 🙂
