I swear, seems like I can't go in there and buy bread and milk for under $20. Other than the prices, Kroger IS a good store. They have a very good selection and the stores are always nice. If I had money to spare, I'd shop there more often. :)

its cheap here....i dunno why it is more expensive there

local economy?

is that even a real thing? lol

LOL, Ok so I was exaggerating a little bit on the $20 for bread and milk, but it seems like there are cheaper stores.

Peace out dude.

Im suprised some people havent heard of Korger, they are the #3 grocery chain in the US.

1. Walmart
2. Albertson's
3. Kroger
4. Safeway

Now I can understand if someone said "HEB is awesome" as its a big chain store, but only in Texas, with a few stores in Mexico.

HEB and Wal-Mart are much better than Kroger and thier overpriced crap, and no having to hassle with a "Kroger Card".
Though having a Door "moo" at you in the dairy section is kinda cool...

The Kroger in my parts is a trashy store, they don't fix stuff and everything is dirty. Too bad cause before they were in another location and I shopped their all the time because they had the lowest prices and they were clean.

I worked at a Kroger's in Pittsburgh when I was 19...just after I left, the union went on strike, Kroger's said 'screw you' and sold all the stores to Safeway. I dunno if things have changed since then (1983)

I forgot my privacy invading "customer tracker" card one time and they charged me full price for my items instead of using one of the cards on the register like I've seen them do 100 other times. I refuse to shop there anymore now.

Years ago I bought my groceries exclusively at Kroger, but since they introduced that stupid card I refuse to shop there anymore. It's Meijers only now; fantastic selection and some of the best produce, period.

One time I went into Kroger and bought $9 worth of stuff and paid with a $10. I wound up getting $11 in change!!! The lady musta thought I gave her a $20. I didn't even realize it till I got home, so my laziness overpowered my guilt in keeping it.

The policy at our local Kroger (King Soopers) is that if the item scans incorrectly then you get the first item free, and every item after that for the correct price. If it is cashier error this does not apply. Chances are that you have been to a Kroger owned store, they are pretty huge. They own Ralphs, Kings Soopers(Where I work :() Dillons, Frys, Smiths, about 10 other supermarkets, loaf 'n jug, mini mart, quik stop, kwik shop, fred meyer jewelers, etc... They suck.

I worked at one for 5 years in Wv and it was NOT awesome :). For a union job the pay is crap. When I quit after 5 freaken years I was making $0.45 over minimum wage. About the only good thing about working there being a union job was it was hard to get fired and I certainly tested that :). I was on probation for about 2 1/2 of those 5 years.

Kroger sucks. At least in atlanta. I've been there on numerous occasions when they've run out of something like bread. Not selling my beloved WonderBread is one thing, but not having a single loaf of bread on the shelf is unacceptable. This has happened with milk, kraft mac & cheese, gatorade, and probably a ton of other stuff. Reminds me of the time I went to McDonalds and they didn't have any Coke??? Additionally, their stores are really trashy/dirty, they have a poor meat selection, horrible deli, etc. Publix was well worth the extra $10 / month it cost me. When I used to live in kansas, we had some pretty nice grocery stores. The Hy-Vee behind my house was open 24x7 and was gigantic. 1.5-2 times the size of the walmart supercenter grocery area that I shop at now. Walmart is pretty bad too. They don't run out of stuff, but there's just a lot of stuff they don't carry that I think a grocery store should. At least the beer is cheap.

I've heard of Krogers, but never seen one out here. Never even heard of these: harris teeter, HG hills, food lion

If Kroger's got bought by Safeway, we have those out here. Kinda like Carl's Jr and Hardee's.

If Safeway bought Kroger, its news to me. If they did that would make Safeway #2. Safeway is, Safeway, Tom Thumb, and Sack and Save. Wal Mart is #1, not only do they have Super Walmarts, but they also have stand alone grocery stores in some parts of the country.

Kroger isnt responsible for the bread. Its the bread vendors. Now if they are out of stuff like mac and cheese, milk, etc is there fault. However bread is delivered 5 days a week from the bread maker.

Heh I had a breif stint in grocery stores.

Every grocery store in my area has those stupid cards. Alberstons even has a class action lawsuit against it for false advertising among other things(they once advertised and claimed they'ed never have the cards among other things).

I like the commissaries on Keesler and Barksdale AFB. Those are the best places to shop that I've ever seen. No chain store can hold a candle to them.

Kroger has the largest selection of any grocery store nearby me, but their price reflects it.

I prefer Harris Teeter, good selection, clean store, good prices.

Food Lion has the lowest prices, but there is no way I would get any perishables there especially since they change the dates on bread and stuff.

Walmart is the only place we go grocery shopping if we have much to buy. Their prices are WAY lower than anywhere else I've ever been to.
