Krispy Kreme to open 32 stores across Eastern Canada

Prepare to be embroiled in a battle of the donuts. As if the donut shop wars aren't hot enough (there seems to be a Tim Horton's popping up at every street corner around here in Toronto), Krispy Kreme has announced its intention to open up 32 stores across Eastern Canada starting this year. I never really thought Tim Horton's donuts were extremely good (they're OK, and their timbits are what I like most), but apparently these Krispy Kreme donuts are addictive.

I'm curious as to what this is going to do to KK's stock.

When I started working where I did last May, KK stock was at 33 a share. About two weeks ago it was sitting at $82 a share.

Damn. If I had only put some money in then 🙁

Omg, Tim hortons ( canadas CIA 😉 ) is up for a battle
But tim hortons is EVERYWHERE.
I wanna see what happens in buffalo

mmm...ive only heard good things
im against the take over of canada by american companies
but i cant wait for tim hortons to go under *evil laugh*
you'd feel the same way if you worked at tim hortons for 2 years for THE family (no not my family THE family),i actually quit and they said no you dont..and i believed them.

*kat. <-- takes her coffee double double

Tim Hortons is on every street corner in Canada because they make the best goddamned coffee in the world and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I've tried that american starbucks garbage... blah! 🙂

We have Tim Horton's here too, so I guess it's only fair 🙂 You Canadians should be loyal to TH though, KK wasn't a hockey player after all 😛

I'm not even going to touch this jewel of idiocy.

Apparently in Buffalo where Tim Horton's has at least one store, their sales rose 5% upon the opening of Krispy Kreme's Buffalo store. I speculate that they were Krispy Kreme customers who, after purchasing a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts, headed to Tim Horton's for a cup of coffee😉 And yes, Tim Horton's coffee is that good. I started out with Second Cup and Starbucks, and then was surprised when I tasted Tim Horton's coffee for the first time.

Does this Tim Horton make deliveries to gas stations and hotels?

The wholesale distribution of KK is where they make a very large amount of their money. One KK store alone that we own delivers over 350 dozen donuts a day.

There's about 15-25 Timmies on the Halifax side of the harbour alone, have to put a lot of KK's in here to even put a dent in the marketshare. Plus, Tim's makes a wickedly addictive coffee (so I'm told; I don't like coffee). I'd be interested to see if KK's donuts are better than Tim's.

New England....getting..getting Krispy Kreme.... YES.. YES .. YES!!!!!!

Course Im sure local management will fsck it up some how.

what is this Tim Horton's. I guess we don't get any of those in the South, I've never even heard of them. The best thing about Krispy Kreme is eating the glazed donuts when they're fresh. They almost melt in your mouth.

Tim Horton's is a donut and coffee place that is insanely popular up here in the frozen north (Canada 😛). Biggest chain of any store by a land slide. There's about 5 to 15 in any city.
