KR7A RAID heatsink question...

I removed the fan, and I want to remove the heatsink off the chipset so I can put some arctic silver on... has anyone done this before? The board is not cooperating with me =) please respond before I rip it off and adhesive it on.... thanks

I tried the same thing and I am pretty sure the heatsink is on with epoxy. I decided to leave it alone.

Good Luck

I believe that there should be two push pins holding it on. You'll have to take your system apart and get to the back of your motherboard to pinch the pins together to push them back out. Then your heatsink should fall off.

The fan on my Asus A7V133 went out and when I replaced the fan with a Thermaltake Blue Orb I also put some Arctic Silver II on the northbridge chipset. 🙂
