I finished KOTOR. It was a great game and yet I do not feel the urge to play KOTOR2 even though I have both.

Hmm...

there isn't ANY improvement in GFX from 1 to II.

I finished the first one rather quickly. Maybe I played too much, but it took me 3-4 weeks. But of course that could be enough time for the 2nd one to go bargain bin :).

it sure is taking FOREVER to go Bargain bin . . . that buggy game, Vampire: Bloodlines, also. . . . it's OK. . . . i'm pretty patient.

now i know where you guys are coming from with the disappointment...

once i got to the third or fourth planet, things started looking EXACTLY like the original... for example, on Dantooine, there was another quest to clean out the Kinrath from the caves?! WTF?! i could have sworn that exact quest was in the first KOTOR.

anyway, i enjoyed playing through (just defeated Darth Sion last night, not sure what happens next - I guess I fight Kreia since she is showing up on the splash screen now) - but... overall, i would like to have those 40+ hours back to experience something new...

Quick?
Me and a friend played KOTOR2 at pretty much the same time (he got it a day before I think), and it took under a week to finish the whole thing for both of us.
We played pretty much non stop for most days, but 3-4 weeks isn't quick :p

this is something i noticed as well. i'm pretty partial to using Master Flurry with my Jedi Weapons Master. not sure if they had that skill in the original.

this is completely beside the point, but I heard the Jedi Master with the big mustache doing some voice work on an Army commercial. :p

*spoiler alert*

alright, last post before i let this thread die

holy sh1t. that was quite possibly the worst ending i have ever seen for a video game. Kreia just dies, there is no epilogue whatsoever!! after she is defeated, THE CREDITS ROLL?!

what the sh1t is that?!

and you don't even get to fight *her* to the death per se... you weaken her face to face, but the final battle is against three floating lightsabers  yeah ok thanks, maybe if i knew that once they were taken out everything was DONE i wouldn't have ran my ass all the way down the bridge so i could fight them one on one. maybe then i would actually get a chance to see Kreia fall.

this game got off to a good start but the ending was CRAP - for light side anyway.

if anyone has played through using dark side, i'd like to hear if the ending is any more satisfying. in the end, this game was about 10x less satisfying than the original.

Yes.

I'm playing light side now, but using the Force Breath power just because I think it looks cool. Battle Meditation is also pretty cool. I'm actually using Force Persuade alot too (and getting chewed out for it by that white haired chick following me around).

I'm saving the dark side for last, since it's always the best.

One question though. I don't know if this is a video card issue, but I've noticed the triangles in the background are really standing out. Anyone else have this issue?

Exactly.
Anybody who's new to the game, they should get both and play them in order. They complement each other. The first one was probably the best RPG I've played so far.

dang... I played KOTOR II without ever playing KOTOR I and I thought the game was fantastic! So what does that mean... should I go out and buy KOTOR I or am I spoiled by any convenient new features of KOTOR II or story lines?
