There are no links. Think assassin droid dialog...

i don't understand . . . now

the droid's dialog was very funny . . . but even the KotOR 1 got "uneven" and some of the plot lines were never fully developed,

i think he's referring to this:

STATEMENT: KOTOR was the best RPG game I've ever played.. I got it for free for preordering Doom 3 - I've played KOTOR much more than D3!
CONDESCENDING NOTE: I am, however concerned that KOTOR2 is a lesser clone of KOTOR*. The meatbags left the game unfinished.

which mimics HK's manner of speaking

thanks . . . . so both games were left unfinished. ;)

damn the meatbags!

I'm kind of hoping Elder Scrolls IV will do that for me. I've never played KOTOR and probably never will, no matter what anyone says. There's just some things that people have described about it that they liked that I know I wouldn't like, so I haven't bothered.

Dont limit yourself man. I love the elder scrolls series (yes, all of them. Am i showing my age?), but KotOR was really a great game that can compete with Morrowind anyday.

[edit] I just read what i wrote and dont agree entirely. KotOR on pc had some serious "console issues" that pissed me off. At least Morrowind was developed for the PC and ported to the lesser console--as it should be done. [/edit]

If you think KOTOR's interface on the PC is a bit clunky, you should try it on Xbox. It's nigh impossible.

I don't think you found all the side quests - not to mention the fact that the game plays very differently depending on whether you go light or dark...

...So unless you can beat the whole game including sidequests TWICE in under 24 hours, you really have no cause to complain.

Yeah I was trying out Halo 2 today. There is no way I could stand to play an FPS on a console, my goodness....

believe it or not, xboxers point to Halo/2 as the shining example of an FPS with controllers. :p

Well its not fair really, the controls for Halo/2 are perfectly fine for single player campaign stuff, however online there's no competition between a good keyboard and mouser vs. the best control pad player, you simply don't have the speed nor the accuracy you can have with the mouse.

However the keyboard is flawed, it isn't necessarily an ideal setup and the keys are not analog. But the combination of the two is still much better than a controller for FPS

KOTOR2 was quite a disappointment compared to the first one. OTOH, I just finished Jade Empire for the 2nd time, as a bad guy this time. OMG you do some evil evil stuff at the end, worse even than what you do as a bad guy in KOTOR.

haven't seen any negative reviews so far. i'm a fan of both star wars and WoW, so i thought i'd enjoy the game. but after a few hours i was so ridiculously bored i haven't picked it up since. it felt so distant, like i was just watching rather than participating

FPSes have no place on consoles.

And yes, KOTORs PC interface is a bit clunky. There's no drag and drop for the inventory/character equipment screen. That alone is a pretty big sin. Then there's the odd targeting system that makes you either cycle through targets with a key or click on one TWICE to perform the appropriate action (one to switch from current target, one to initiate action)...there are other bits.

Overall, it's a huge improvement from KOTOR's Xbox controls, but compared to most PC RPGs, it's still not very refined or intuitive.

I just finished playing KOTOR2. I havent seen this good writing since BG2 & PS:T. In terms of storyline & character development, KOTOR2 is better than KOTOR1. I was a bit disappointed with the ending though as I felt it was too abrupt and contrived.

KOTOR 2 was obviously rushed, and parts of it were far too plodding.

I felt KOTOR 1 was far superior with better pacing and characters.

I know the ending of the first KOTOR was really great in my eyes. I loved the story for that game, although the gameplay was not as "revolutionary" as some may have thought.

i have yet to really sit down and play this although I own it...

are you a RPG player? i wasn't - before KotOR. ;)

Why are (many) FPS Fans bored to tears by RTS/RPG Games?

it is a very good game but it takes quite awhile to get into it. ;)

apoppin, i think even with the graphics as they are you would be pleased to find Fallout has maybe the most personality of any game that has been made in a very long while.

The atmosphere and storyline in that game come second to none in my opinion.

i am just getting back into System Shock2. i HAD to install Win98SE on a 2nd partition to get a satisfactory experience as Win2K just doesn't works well with it (there are patches for XP).

it looks pretty good for a '99 game - with the hi res packs - at max 16 bit color/10x7/8xAA+16xAF/vsynch on) . . . after that . . . KotOR 2 and maybe Bloodlines or another look at Fallout (it is RTS, not RPG right - or am i confused?)

BTW, what does anyone think of Sacrifice?

OMG, SS2 is the reason I HATE small frickin monkeys. Nothing like having a gun nearly falling apart and hearing those damnable monkeys and that creepy computer whispering in your ear. SHIVER...

I think KOTOR1 was far and away better than 2. That's just me. I pushed through Bloodlines and the writing is really good and it's pretty interesting the way it's all presented, but the bugs just constantly ticked me off... they were extremely bad

Sacrifice isn't really an RPG, It's more like a persistent RTS. Single player was decent, but multiplayer is a blast if you can find people.
