KOTOR is like crack - I beat it today!

This is really my first RPG..and I must say it kicks a lot of ass. I usually just play racing games, FPS, and sports games, but I had heard so much about Kotor. It didn't take long for me to be sucked in. Now I have to TRY to stop playing, but it is hard. If you haven't played this game yet, I suggest you do.


I know I am a bit late considering when this game came out..but I still had to say it.

Update - Thursday, 26th

I didn't expect the plot twists, but they were a pleasant surprise. If Jade Empire for the xbox is anything like this, I think I have to get it.

I just played it this December and loved it. I'm about 1/2 done with KOTOR2 and it's just as good. Definitely hard to pull away from!

I was extremely excited to get the game - but the beginning couple of levels almost ruined it for me. Luckily, I stuck with it, and thoroughly enjoyed the rest.

I think pretty much everyone would say, yes. Start with Kotor.

KOTOR2 is really lackluster compared to 1. 2 had interesting characters, they were just all underdeveloped. A lot of the dialogue was cut from the game as well, because the publisher wanted to get it to the market faster. Rumor has it, there is a patch in the works to replace that dialogue.

KOTOR isn't an RPG as much as it is an action/adventure type game. The game/story is on rails and you're along for the ride.....a Star Wars ride. The game bored me.....everything is sooooo scripted.

I may have to play this too then! I have heard everybody talking about how good it is, but never played it. I will have to check it out despite the fact I don't like RPGs that much.

KOTOR was one of my favourite PC games ever, and that's saying a lot. I usually don't finish RPG-style games but you're right OP - it was like crack. Haven't picked up KOTOR II yet but I assume I will eventually, when it's in the bargain bin just like when I bought pt.1...
