That is probably the only thing the first game was lacking, and I hope the second one fixes that. But so far I have not been able to find anything leading to the answer. Any of you know if it will be multiplayer?
You know, when the PC version came out, the official KOTOR forums were overrun with whiny Neverwinter Nights dweebs crying rivers about how KOTOR wasn't NVN with lightsabers and how it sucked because there wasn't multiplay and no amount of sense could be talked into their thick heads that NOT EVERY DAMN GAME IS IMPROVED WITH MULTI-PLAYER!!!Originally posted by: SinfulWeeper
bahh... Diablo was made mulyiplayer more and more or less is solo based... everquest too. I think KOTOR could easily have been made multiplayer and be quite good. Ahh well, I will still buy KOTOR II when it is released... but I still think we need a multiplaer KOTOR :|

Kotor 2 isn't a new engine. Which is a good thing IMO because I didn't have any problems with the old engine and this means they can focus 100% on game items / balance / enemies and story.
Kotor 1 and 2 weren't multiplayer because that, for the most part, has been a weak point for Bioware. They are EXTREMELY good at creating a large single player experience. But the second you throw another person in, the perverbial shiat hits the fan.
I'm sure a slight story modification could be created to add a second static hero and it wouldn't be a big deal. The difficulty comes from programming the network code to allow 2 people to run around the world without any problems. And then add to this the ability to have the 2 people explore certain parts of the world independetly while being together for necessary events. IE: My buddy and I could explore the town together but we would both need to be together before heading to the bad guy cave.
It would take some work...
Sadly, Co-Op has ALWAYS been the most fun for video games. That is why it is sad to see Doom3 not come with coop. Or to see an RTS with terrible AI. NWN had decent co-op though, and I'd like to see them continue that line of thought.

From what ive heard, they are developing a sequel to NWN, but they are dropping the NWN name because they are dropping the D&D ruleset.

Just to clear up a couple things:
1) NWN2 is being developed by Obsidian (old Black Isle Studio people) using the same engine as NWN and D&D ruleset.
2) Dragon Age is a completely new Bioware game that will not use D&D rules (they're making their own system).
