i looked and tried pretty much everything. anyone wanna take my save game and see if you can get past it? i tried it on my friend's compouter, and it also crashed at the same place.

This game wasn't ready for release....

I'll be waiting for the patch before I play again, so as to avoid tainting my memory of this game. I still have high hopes that it will be a fantastic game though. But I won't play it if Swoop Racing doesn't work properly.

I just got an xbox, to play halo mostly, and i picked up "KOTOR:I" I was expecting so much more being it was 'game of the year'and all. Im playing it now, only played it for 2hrs., still giving it a chance but the characters just seem so fake, and I got stuck for a bit in between a couple of 'um and carth, til i talked to him, again. Slightly buggy, but fun so far. 🙂thinks:not as much as paperMario I just rented)

So much reading, like a 'choose your own adventure' book. Hope fable is in my stocking.
XBOX "is getting old" - guess im behind but I love the thing and hope another 'halo' is released before xenon arrives. And I hope more games are introduced that are as fun as halo is to play. Driven like a cinema. And NO reading... I read books to go to sleep.

Just my current opinion, subject to change, and change I may it as I go along.

Don't judge it until you've finished it. The opening is slow, but it takes off like a rocket about 6 - 7 hours in. Just wait.

I finished up Dantooine, and about 1/3 of Nar Shadda, before I was struck by the loading bug. When I attempt to leave the Refuge Area, I get an illegal error that dumps me to the desktop. It happens reliably, every time I try to pass out of the area. It's right at the point where it says "Saving..."

for the pc version, once you get to onderon, massive errors arise. Every time you load, there is a 20% chance of crashing. Feels like I'm playing Russian roulette.

I still cannot play the game. At a complete stop due to a critical bug. Hopefully the patch fixes it.

I got it... and I regret it. It would be a great game if it wasn't so damn annoying to play. I ran a swoop race, beat the #1 time, and the guy says I took a nasty spill... wtf... I fvcking won!!!

For some reason it switched from full screen to windowed after a crash, I had to edit the config file to get it working right again.

Random crashes seem normal... I'll be walking and all of a sudden the game freezes, hard drive is clicking away, then Windows said there was an error and it had to shut down the game.

I'm trying to return the game, but places don't usually accept opened software. Hopefully if I bitch enough about how the game doesn't work they'll get tired of listening to me and just give me a refund.

We were told a patch was coming for KoTOR II 3 weeks ago. Still nothing. And I've had an unplayable game on my desk for a month now. Way to go Lucas Arts.

i have been following this fiasco . . . . i am just now playing KotOR (1) . . . . my 1st RPG 😛

Didn't a relatively small - 8MB patch - fix all the original's problems? Reading the reviews, it appears the original also had a lot of issues . . . .

perhaps by the time i (finally if ever) finish KotOR, KotOR II should be patched and in the bargain bin

I never had an issues with KoTOR 1, aside from it ran kinda sluggish on my then bleeding edge PC. KoTOR II has lots of game stopping bugs. Swoop racing is busted to sh!t as well.

They always seem the rush the sequels. 😉

i am starting to buy games only when they are (half-price) bargain bin . . . . i guess i got lucky with the two i got their 1st week of release (on "sale", anyway $36 each) - HL2 and DoomIII - ran acceptably on most people's machines right out of the box . . . . i don't think Chron of Riddick ever needed patching.

it is a real irritation to pay top dollar for a game you are waiting for right away and then have to wait to play it because of bugs.

i havent managed to play kotor2...installed it and it keeps black screening on me at the starting intro movie where the ship enters the asteroid field. havent managed to fix it and installing again doesnt work. anyone know a workaround for this

Damn sloppy on LucasArts end . . . INexcusable, i'd say

maybe it'll be patched by the time i finish KotOR(1) . . . just started 😛

Yup, I've been monitoring the LA boards and the Obsidian boards. Lots of unhappy people.

I`ll say this,I found KOTOR2 was very stable during gaming and trouble free for installation, however there`re a few gaming bugs, btw the patch is taking way too long to be released, don`t know if that`s a good or bad thing.

I`m playing Star Wars Galaxies at the moment and so far it`s quite enjoyable, too bad there`s a small monthly subscribtion fee for this MMORPG,only real negative thing.

guess he's really unhappy . . . .

i know i'd be
:disgust:

Pay $40 bucks (more?) for a buggy/unfinished/untested product you waste a lot of time with and ultimately set aside - for a MONTH - while the monkeys spend more time on the patch then they did testing the game. :frown:

The thing that REALLY bugs me is that they might do it on purpose . . . out of laziness and cost-cutting . . . so the consumer gets to report the bugs with their respective systems.
(i hope not)

And the thing that really gets me is that I was really looking forward to this game. I think KoTOR I was one of the best games ever. It was just fantastic. So I rushed out and got KoTOR II as soon as I could. And after being annoyed with swoop racing bugs, about 12 hours into the game, I encountered a critical bug that halted my gameplay. Sucks.

And I don't know what happened there with the triple post.
