yes... it looks like it should transform into a big rig or sports car or something... maybe these could be "at-home use only" headphones 🙂

This headphone gives most cans up to $100 a good run for the money. Very comfortable, excellent bass response, nice balanced sound slightly on the warm side. It's a supra aural, open air design so there is some sound leakage. Volume control works well for portables without remote. It's a real bargain for $13.

Really great sounding headphones for the $. You will want to listen to your favorite tunes all over again, to savor every nuance.

Got in on a Buy-1-Get-1 deal a year ago. The same speaker element, with the "Titanium Coated" diaphragm, is used on some of their more expensive headphones (Porta-Pros etc.). Nice clear highs and strong bass (solid, not muddy, maybe a bit too strong, but thats ok). Very efficient drivers, so you get plenty of volume, and good battery life, from portable music players.

i had KTXPro1's that didn't look like this, they were black and made of metal, not plastic like this, baby sister tripped over the cord and now the right channel no longer works, got them as a gift so i was pissed about losing them
good deal, prolly gonna jump on it

Koss might fix 'em or give you a new set. I remember reading good things in other threads, about Koss taking care of customers.

Thanks for the deal. The headphones will make a good present; add a CD and you've got free "Super Saving Shipping" or whatever they call it.

I've bought many of these, and have done many side-by-side comparisons. The treble is somewhat lacking, but the pure frequency response for such a cheap pair of headphones is absolutely incredible. IMHO, they are one of the best sounding headphones for general listening for under $100. From what I understand, the condensors used are nearly identical to the high-end models that Koss makes.

I hate the purple band. I generally either cut it off or wear it slightly off the back of my head.

Truly - don't knock these until you try them. For a mere $15 (buy two with a friend for free shipping) they are worth every penny to listen to and again, are excellent for general listening. I guarantee they will replace all of the cheap junk most brands make.

If you want to try before you buy, Radio Shack sells these as rebranded Optimus -- which are on 1/2 price sale for $19.99 right now.
