Korean laptop

I have a friend that has come to America with a Korean laptop but it does not find any wireless networks. In the adapter settings I see things about selecting channels and regions but have no idea if it is possible to get it to work.

The entire computer is in Korean but he can read it for me. couldnt find anything at all on google about this...

The language/origin of the computer will not affect its ability to connect to wifi, so the problem is somewhere in the configuration. You'll have to go through it all with your friend until you can figure out what's misconfigured, but you can at least be sure that there's no reason it can't work.

yeah, you need to figure out how THAT system connects wirelessly. If you tell us the brand, make and model, that might help. Also, what OS? As stated earlier the region shouldn't matter. You will however have to figure out how to type the access point and password in english. That might be your issue, but I've never used a korean notebook.

It should be able to connect just fine, like any laptop sold in the U.S. I've dealt with Korean notebooks with XP & Vista (i.e Samsung & LG) at work, since we have several interns from South Korea working in our office and the wireless connection process is exactly the same, just in Korean.

Check the basics first, like checking if the wireless switch is on or off.

Channel setting in other countries is different. Make sure that the Wireless card is set with US channels.

If you can not set it try a local Wireless card.
