Funny I can't see myself ever running up against that limit & I can eat quite a bit.

Better question is, who pays extra to go out to eat to cook their own food? If I pay to eat out, I'm sure as hell not cooking my own food.

Buffet owners/managers who are fed up with idiots that come in at 11am and stay until closing. The fact that normal people will be bursting at the seams within an hour doesn't mean that there are not plenty of others who want to pay for one meal and eat three.

Who stays at a restaurant for more than two hours anyway?

The only buffet I can enjoy all night long is the body of a beautiful lady.

I'm fine with that. People who stay at a buffet long enough to eat two meals jack up the price for the rest of us.

It happens, especially if you are with a group of people. You start talking about this and that and next thing you know its closing. Couldn't imagine eating for two hours though. If its a good buffet I'd be down in 30 min max.

Wow 2 hours isn't much if you are with a bunch of friends. You want to be able to take your time eating, talk, and drink.

I eat at buffet once or twice a month. I pride myself on not being "greedy" and take only what I want. It is $7 so soup, egg roll, plate sushi and one of hot food is MORE than enough. Whatever I eat, I must excrete (or wear around my belly). Neither experience appeals to me so moderation is called for.
I have a choice in places to go. I want them to succeed.

I do. I love Korean BBQ (if it's a good restaurant that is).

It's a pain doing Korean BBQ at home, even though I have the burner and the pan for it. Plus the smoke sets off my smoke detector.

2 hours is short for nights out with groups though, since Korean BBQ inherently takes longer than other types of restaurant meals.

I've spent like 5 hours in different restaurants eating/drinking before. It's usually fancier places which only do a single seating though. Can't imagine being at a buffet for that long.

they'd probably don't enforce the policy too strictly unless you're eating an obscene amount of food. A lot of crab buffets have a time limit also. They might also give you leeway if you're ordering a bunch of hite/ob/soju/makgeolli

We asked the waitress once at a buffet if there were anyone who does this. She pointed to a giant morbidly obese man reading a newspaper. Said he comes in at 11am every day and stays until about 8pm.

Asians are crazy for being cheap as hell. $5.00 min order for Credit Cards, no soap in the bathroom, very little shrimp in the shrimp fried rice.

I have lot of stories about Asian businesses that try to be cheap and get their ass sued or forced to shut down by the health dept.
