Kooky things people do with animals:

I like cats, dogs, birds, fish, etc., but what some people do to bond with their animals is beyond me.

Among other things they:

1) Spend more on them then they can actually afford. A $1000 Maltese puppy anyone? $50 tooth cleanings? $20 for puppy chow?

2) Let them ride in their cars and sit in their laps, while they are driving!!!

3) Share food with them! Do you know where that tounge has been?

4) Let large animals live indoors (cats and dogs belong outside) such as German Sheppards, Whippets, Calicos, etc.

5) Tounge kiss them!!!!!!!!!!

I've never met anyone who uses tongue when they kiss their pet. Perhaps you're hanging out with the wrong crowd.

I have 3 cats, and that's where I have ALWAYS drawn the line!

The first time I heard about it, I could not believe it. Nothing really suprises me anymore with extreme animal lovers.

No one should be kissing animals, tongue or no tongue!

I think I saw a Mythbusters episode once where they tested the bacterial content of a dog's mouth to that of the host and the dog came out cleaner 😛

I'm sure people who are spending $1000 on puppies are able to afford them. As for food... wow, my dad doesn't even give our dogs dog food. He buys pounds of beef brisket and gives them that with some rice. Yeah, they're spoiled and fat.

What kind of illness can you get from this?

Who the hell does that?

In reference to kissing them, as one above poster said, a simple search on google will reveal people do much more than that 😉.

What do you mean tongue kiss? As in an erotic, sexual encounter between pet and owner? or the pet coming up to the owner and licking the owner's face and mouth, and the owner just not backing away out of fear of germs?

EDIT: And in cleanliness, there is no know dog to human transferavle diseases. There are however, several human to dog diseases. Also, yes there could be human transferable bacteria if hes allowed to, say, drink from the toilet.

I don't see any point to having a dog or a cat if you plan to just keep it outside all the time. If you live on a farm and use them to protect the other animals/kill rats or mice that I can understand but just as a pet no. I find it rather cruel.

1) My dog was $2,500 and worth every penny 😀😀
2)My dog is allowed to ride in the car, but never on the lap of driver 😕 (my dog is like 100lbs hahaha)
3) A dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's...
4) I HAVE A GERMAN SHEPPARD and she lives inside 😀 whats the problem?? she part of the family. You would never force like you brother to live outside, would you?!
5) I don't really let my dog kiss me 🙁

Edit: Hahaha ok now that I realize who made this post, that PM he/she sent me makes a lot more sense

We have a pug, and my wife takes her for a ride in the car somtimes. She loves it. And we try and kiss our pug before she can get a lick in, but sometimes she slips us the tongue. 😱

we have a huge German Shepherd back at the farm... he lives in a pen outside but when he is good, he gets to come inside and lay in the corner of the kitchen on this doggy-bed.

we don't have any cats here, but i've had housecats before. a lot of people have pets in their home and you know this, so i'm going to have to say you're just trolling on that comment.

I won't even let my dog lick my hands and if she does the first thing I do is go wash them. I swear, all that stupid mutt does all day is lick her ass. I don't know WTF is going on back there but she sure seems interested in it.

My animals do live indoors though. The dog goes out in the back yard for extended periods but the cat stays indoors most of the time. The dog is not allowed on the bed and neither animal eats human food ever.

I hear ya! Do you have a doggy door? And yes, I had a German Sheppard too for 17 years. It either was outside or in the basement.

And he ate his own poo on occasion!!!!

Yeah, we have a black lab mix. She's about 80lbs. She won't eat her own poo but she'll eat cat poo if she gets a chance. Disgusting.

[/quote]Wow, you locked your dog in the basement/left him outside long enough he started to eat his own poo? I think you're the problem here. I hate people who abuse their animals...

I'm pretty much the same with my dog except for the fact that I don't mind when he licks me 😱

Actually no. It was a gated backyward and the door to the basment was always open, so he came and went as he pleased. The only time he was down there was the winter (when the door was closed and the central air vent was open) and when it was raining.

I hate people that dont ask questions first. :camera:

Why do you even bother having a dog?

My dogs pull security too but from in the house where I actually have my stuff. The only things they could gaurd from my backyard is my garage and their own poop.
