Koenigsegg CCX

i remember fifth gear was saying Koenigsegg's was pretty unreliable and is pretty unrefined when compared to other supercars in similar price range.

I watched a vid on the gumball rally and the koenigsegg kept breaking down - the owner bought a new VW to get an oil cap or something at some point.

At any rate, it isn't going to be in the same league as the veyron even if it does have a theoretically higher straight line speed - the old CCR was theoretically faster than every car above it on the Top Gear power board.

It is a great looking car.

To be honest, it sounds like the changes were mostly made to meet U.S. regulations, and they decided to make it sound like it was done for performance (which some of the things like the new carbon fiber wheels were).

Still love it though.

Any word about the CCX's powerplant? The last one was derived from a Ford SVT V8.
From the CCX's technical specs (4-valve, 4.7L) it sounds like another bored-out Teksid SVT Cobra block to me.

Better pictures...or images...whatever...

speaking of which, how come Europeans can turn American engines into absolutely monsters, and then put it in an actual production car. The Rover MG SV has a mustang engine that puts out 400 N/A. the Noble M12 has a force fed ford taurus engine. and I think there's another one that uses the Viper engine (it looks hideous though).

$8100 for your garden variety 911 Porker, and $23,500 for a Ferrari 575 (part of GTC handling package), or $15,364 for the Ferrari 430.

It's all about how much you are willing to spend. I doubt an American car manufacturer could sell a mass-produced car them at a price that made a profit if they did every little tweak to maximize an engine. That's why there are places like Sean Hyland, Roush, Saleen, etc. that do limited editions at a premium price. How much is an MG-SV? and how much is a Mustang GT?
