Kodak "Pre-Charged" AA LOSD Rechargeables - $5 OTD

I was in my local Target during lunch and saw on clearance Kodak "PRE-CHARGED" AA rechargeable NiMH batteries (set of 4) for $5. These are listed at 2100mAh. The blister pack says "Stays Charged 4X Longer than ordinary Ni-MH..." which I assume it means these are the newer low self discharge type (Sanyo Eneloops, Rayovac Hybrids, etc.). No idea how long they have been on the shelf but I took a pair straight from the pack and put into my wireless mouse. Functioned perfectly without precharging. I have used the Rayovac Hybrids in other devices and highly recommend them. Don't know if this is local or a national clearance so may be a YMMV. SKU is 057060235.

Did they have AAA size available too? I love my Sanyo Eneloops. If these Kodaks perform similarly, $5 for four is a hot hot hot deal!

Hey thanks! I picked up 4 of the low discharge AAs with a charger for $11. I didn't see any AAAs but they had several charger battery combos for sale.

Eneloops claim 8x longer charge hold. Kodak can make some good batteries so I wonder if these are as good as the sanyos. If its close then great deal.

Kodak's batteries are made by Sanyo. Don't know if they are the same specs, but definitely the same manufacturer

I got some Kodak's from Thompson Distributing (along with an awesome 4-channel charger) and they're every bit as incredible as you've heard. I can let them sit in camera for weeks, and still get a full day of shooting.

Thanks OP. My wife just scored the last 2 packs at the Saginaw Target. If these are anything like the Eneloops (which I can never find B & M anymore) then I will be a happy camper.

Thanks OP. Wife just picked up the last 3 sets for $4.98 each (plus tax) at the Reynolds Road store in Lexington, KY. Great deal!!!

The Hamburg store hasn't been marked down yet.

Just picked up the last 7 packs at the Lexington Hamburg store for $2.48 per pack!!!

Woooohooooo!

Also picked up an IOMagic 320GB external USB 2.0 drive for $24.98 on clearance. Opened and it contained an Hitachi Deskstar 320GB SATA II 16MB cache drive. Can't beat it for $24.98 + tax! 🙂

i got some kodaks from thomasdistributing , they were terrible did not hold charge within a week. Every single battery 2500 nimh dunno if i got duds, but after i bought Powerex and never looked back , next are eneloops or other low discharge batteries

The Kodak Low Discharge (listed by the OP) are supposed to be rebranded Eneloop batteries, FWIW.

I thought the Kodaks were like Rayovacs and not Eneloops? And the Duracell pre-charged (with the white top, made in Japan) were Eneloops as well as some of the Uniross Hybrios (made in Japan)?

I could be wrong though.

edit: still a good deal at $5 regardless.

You need a good charger... quick chargers for NiMH cells just murder them 🙁
