the above link will take you to the product information page on kodak's site of the gold ultima cd-r discs. these discs are stable and reliable, really high quality stuff, and I have never had a problem getting a burned VCD working on a DVD player using this media.

the deal is this: buy two 35-spindles of the media, and get one free. the three spindles of discs (105 discs in all), plus two day shipping and tax, came to around 60$. This is less than 60 cents a disc.

Those are the best of the best. Kodak used to sell them $130 for 200. If you want something that will last at least 100 years, and even the sun won't damage, these are it.

Hell yes. Don't you want your music to have the most durable and long lasting disks possible? If you want something to hold data for a short time, get the TDK's at Costco in the 50 packe; MADE IN JAPAN. They are second. But be sure to keep anything but the gold out of the sunlight. Have you ever noticed that silver tarnishes, but gold doesn't?

Kodak Ultima Golds are top, top, quality. Holds info integrity and is compatible with any player i've ever come across. Ask Ritek, CMC or Gigastorage to do the same! Then maybe people on this board will come to their senses with crap media unless it's for their own personal use and nothing else.

heh, I love how people say their generic cdrs are great, cos they burned 10 without problems.

Take those, and use them for a year or two (or just let them sit around) and see how many survive after that.

I'm one of those people willing to pay the extra 20 cents a disc to make sure my data survives as long as I might need it.

Kodaks rock. I was able to get 25 cd spindles of the silver/golds for $10 a pop.

Kodak cds are very good, but as for the nonsense about silver cds tarnishing
and not gold? I think your BRAIN is tarnished! I have burned over 12,000 cds
in the past 5 years! I have used mainly Taiyo Yuden and Kodak, both gold and
silver. The dye is more important than the metal layer. And also I seem to notice, that commercial software is on silver!
Main thing is,stick to a quality manufacturer! My Taiyo Yudens are labled
as such! I know most Fuji 16x are supposed to be Tais, but I need to be sure!
My cds I burned 5 years ago are still as good as they were then!My cds are
accessed several hundred times daily. After all this activity,I can only
remember about a dozen cds that crapped out!

i'm still using burned cds i made back on my 1x burner over 4 years ago. im still listening to beastie boy and sublime cds i burned over 3 years ago. music cds have been in my car most of their life. no problems ever. altho i agree these golds are prob the best, you guys laughing about 'generics' lasting no more than 2 years don't know what you're talking about.
