Goto photoalley.com, they're running a promo for 100 off $600. Add the DC4800, then something cheap.

Kodak cut the price to $599 last week, about the only bad thing about this model is that it doesn't capture movies like many $500+ models do. Anyway, check out the reviews at amazon.

edit/ maybe not such a hot deal, they're just under $500 according to pricegrabbber. Photoalley's pretty reliable though.

StonerDave...

Was about to post this deal when we saw your post.

PhotoAlley.Com seems to have higher prices then elsewhere -- but their $100-off promotions bring them in line. Beware PriceGrabber's prices: The lowest prices listed may be "refurbished" or "after rebate" or "not in stock" -- with no mention of that in PriceGrabber's listings.

Another PhotoAlley possibility (some are interested in this):

Nikon CoolPix 950: $730 - $100 = $630. Nikon offers a $150 rebate for the 950, bringing one's cost down to $480.

Finally, we noticed on Fatwallet.Com that Kodak is offering a trade-in: Buy the DC4800 ($599; or another recent model) then trade in your old Kodak digi-cam for $50 - $250 off:

Any suggestions on what to get to push the total to $600?

Don't forget ebates 5% of $600 = another $30...

So it actually comes to $470.... or so if you can find a $0.05 item.

cameraworld.com has better prices I think. Plus every time you buy something, they will give you bonus bucks for use in your next purchase. I bought my Canon EOS Rebel 2000 kit for $319 1 1/2 years ago, no tax(the physical store is in Oregon or Washington), free ship. At that time, it was $399 + 8.25% tax in CA stores like Wolf Camera and Ritz Camera with lousy Quantaray lens. Until now, no stores in CA came close to matching this price! Recently I also bought a 100-300mm zoom lens from them, shipped in 3 days in perfect condition.

Heads up. A friend of mine is a sales manager for Kodak's digital camera division. He tells me there is a rebate program (or another price cut) coming up in March for the 4800.

Rebate work now. Goto Amazon.com, you can get it at $499.

Question:
Where can we find the rebate form? If I buy it in Photoalley at $499, can I get the $100 rebate too?
Buy.com'price is $529. same question to Buy.com
