Kodak DC3400 LCD Question

I have had the Kodak DC3400 for about 6 months now and find the camera to be superb. However, one thing that bugs me is the LCD quality in view finder mode. When turned on as a view finder, the refresh rate seems to be horrible causing grainy images that stutter slightly with movement. Spinning the brightness wheel on the bottom masks the problem a bit. I rarely use the view finder to take pictures though because it will kill the batteries in no time. However, this does bug me because when I look at friends' DC280 or Olympus, the LCD is much sharper when used as a view finder. I called Kodak and they said it is normal and I even went out and bought a second DC3400 and found the same thing (so I know it is not the camera). The LCD looks great in displaying shots already taken, the problem is just in view finder mode.

Does anyone with the DC3400 notice the same thing?

Thanks. That confirms it and yes, when I tested my boss' DC280, I found the LCD or at least the refresh rate and clarity in view finder mode to be better than my DC3400. That's what got me questioning mine. The camera does take fantastic pictures and the LCD issue is moot as I don't know of a digital camera where using the LCD as a view finder does not kill the batteries in record time.

Thanks again, it is a great camera and the LCD is very much functional.
