You can get a Kodak DC3200 Digital Camera at Staples that costs $199.98 for almost half that price.

Here is the camera:

CAMERA

The SKU # is 446632

First add something worth 2 cents and use a $40 off $200 coupon. Then there is a $50 MIR. Voila!

For those of you who have time for a little more effort, you can Price Match it for $179.95 with free shipping to avoid the Staples rip on shipping, add $20 worth of other goodies, and then use the $40 off coupon.

PRICEMATCH

OK, I know this isn't the greatest deal in the world, but it's ok for someone who wants to get into digital.

Maverick319 - FIRST OF ALL, I DID NOT INTENTIONALLY DO ANYTHING WRONG AND I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING CALLED A THIEF. IF YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH MY NOT BEING ABLE TO GO THROUGH ALL THE POSTS BEFORE TRYING TO HELP OUT AND GIVE SOME INFORMATION, COMPLAIN TO THE MODERATOR ABOUT ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CLOG THIS FORUM UP WITH CRAP LIKE A FREE BAR OF SOAP OR A FREE BOTTLE OF COKE; AND ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO DO NOT PUT THE DEAL IN THE HEADLINE OR HAVE MISLEADING HEADLINES.

I'M SORRY THAT I HAVE UPSET YOU, I DID NOT NOTICE THE OTHER POST. HOWEVER, YOU HAVE TO ADMIT, MY POST REGARDING A $40 COUPON AND A LOWER PRICEMATCH THAT CANNOT BE CONTESTED BY STAPLES BECAUSE OF FREE SHIPPING, AVOIDING THEIR RIP OFF FOR "OVERNIGHT" SHIPPING, IS A BETTER DEAL ANYWAY AND DESERVES TO BE SEEN.

I AM NOT GETTING PAID AND NEITHER IS THE PERSON WHO DID THE ORIGINAL POST. I'M JUST TRYING TO PAY BACK THE FOLKS HERE WHO HAVE BEEN GIVING MUCH BETTER DEALS THAN THIS FOR ALL THE MONEY I HAVE SAVED AND BEING ABLE TO AQUIRE THINGS I WOULD NOT HAVE IF NOT FOR THEM. I DON'T CONDSIDER THIS TO BE ANYTHING MORE THAN A LOT OF PEOPLE HELPING EACH OTHER.

NO, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT A "BUMP" IS, KINDLY ADVISE ME AS TO THE DEFINITION.

Yelling doesn't really help, does it? A bump is when you post a reply to a deal you see that you like, or think deserves a higher place on the forum. Many good deals don't receive a reply at first, only to be "Bumped" up by someone. I don't really care about the camera post, but it appeared like you just cut and pasted the deal, then claimed it for your own. If you can better a deal already posted, and it's a long post, start another but give credit to the originator. No big deal and certainly not worth busting an artery over.

Junior member comes up with a very nice twist to the deal. If you don't get it the first time, hang up and try someone else. Sooner or later a CSR is going to give you the deal if you work at it.

After six months of seeing "bump" in posts, I finally know what it means.

Just thought you guys would like to know, i called once, got some lady who refused to do the pricematch online, saying that corporate said their price was to be $149 as a result of the rebate.

Called 10mins later, spoke to Joe, who pricematched no prob with Best Buy B&M, but alas would not gimme the scanner...oh well. Camera for 110 still great.

Hope this helps someone's hopes

FYI, I was in a BestBuy B&M today and they had the DC3200 priced as $149.9x "As Advertised." I looked at the tag and did not see anything about a rebate, just the 149.9x price. I don't know if this is supposed to be before or after rebate. I didn't have the circular and didn't feel like looking it up. Thought I'd mention it in case anyone else wants to give it a shot.

In addition, the Bestbuy.com page has it listed as $179.95 w/ free shipping.

FWIW, Even if it's possible for 149.95 - $40 - $50 = 69.95 + Tax... I still think it's not worth it. But, I'm picky. Search the other threads for either DC3200 and you'll find some links to sample pics... this camera has poor quality for 1MegaPixel resolution. There are lots of jaggies and the focus is off for all the shots I've seen posted.

But, if you are looking for a cheap 1024x768 cam...

I agree dman. After grabbing a discount JamCam from Etoys, I found that I really have a lot of use for a digital camera and wanted to get something I'll be happy with for awhile. It had to be inexpensive but not leaving me feeling like I need to upgrade in a few months or so. I struggled over this, but decided to spend a little more and get something better than the DC3200. The Kodak is capable of 1 Megapixel, but the optics are low end and it shows in the many sample pics I found. Don't get me wrong, it's a great price for a starter, it takes decent pictures and will probably be fine for most, but I wanted better. A search through some old threads revealed better cameras for not much more money. In the end, I bought a Fuji Finepix 1400 (1.3 Mp, 3x optical zoom, USB, self timer, etc) but I owe it all to original DC3200 thread which got the wheels turning.

I can't say what happened, but leaving a decision to something seen posted by someone who may not know how to use the camera properly is not a valid test. When you try to shoot too close, the camera will distort and cause the conditions you describe. The best thing if someone is on a budget and needs something in this price range is to get it, read the manual thoroughly and use it. If it is not good quality, you can always return it and you will not have paid any shipping on it, and if the quality is bad, I'm sure that Staples will come out and get it for free. They have done this for me for much less important reasons.

good site mate! I agree, take your time, read reviews, and look at samples if you can...not all 1 megapixel cameras are created equal and you don't want to buy one, only to yearn for more quality later. the dcs s70 is definately a great camera...good lens!
