i got the fujifilm finepix 2650 today.

its pretty sweet, the new XD memory and all. came out $199 + bunch of bundled software and 16MB xd chip.

as for the toshiba at circuit city. i was going to buy that one, but then i noticed that it sucked because it had no lense cover. WTF? how can it not have a lense cover, almost all the other cameras have at least a cover to protect the lense! i asked the people there and they also told me there was no lense cover. and i wasnt about to buy one.

so, went to ritz and picked up a 2650.
Did the Toshiba have an automatic sliding lens cover? Great job buying the Fuji 2650. I see lots of good pictures in your future. 🙂 -- and for only $46.00 more than a "so-so" Kodak camera - you did pretty good.

I know that at least one store in my area is very shorthanded on this particular model and they are planning on substituting the 4330 for the 4300 at the same price. The 4330 has a 3x optical zoom and sells for almost $300 at Walmart. So that would be half price!!! Don't know if any other Wal-mart suffered that shortage, but if you could luck into one, that would be a great deal. Just thought I would let you all know so you can keep an eye out if your in Wal-mart tomorrow morning!

I went to the WalMart in Bakersfield and got a DX4330. Didn't even know it 'til I got home.

Bakersfield Cali? if so yer the closest person to me that I have seen on Anandtech so far 🙂

I bought this yesterday and it's not a bad camera. Colors are vivid, pics are sharp. It's an ok camera if you are only going to shoot 4 x 6 pics for the computer album. A big plus is not caring if I loose it or it breaks in a year because the price was right. If I want to do something to enlarge, I'll stick with my trusty 6 X 7 cm film camera.

WOW, so now 3 megapixel cameras are only good for 4x6 photos? That means for an 8x10 photo you'll need AT LEAST a 6mp camera

To add to this "Kodak cameras suck" discussion, Kodak digital cameras used to be really great up until the DC4800. After that, it looks like they stopped funding their R&D teams and just put out new cameras with the same parts in them.

No offense but 2.1MP are good up to 8x10, 3.1MP are better. 3.1MP can go up to 11x14. I've been into digital photography for quite some time and a 3MP print vs. a 6MP print there's not much difference if you're printing via a chemical based system.

yes please someone tell me if compact flash will work on this camera...the manual in the box says it does, but the guy at fry's says it won't....help!

MMC or SD are completely different than Smartmedia and Compact Flash.
From the Walmart link (the original post) the camera only takes MMC or SD.

LongCoolMother...
How's the Fugi 2650 compared to The Canon A40?
I have been looking at the Canon A40. I don't know too much about the Fugi.
