For me, the shipping is $3.95 for up to 6 of the 10 pack of colored slimline case 24x CDRs. After 6 it went up to $4.95. This may keep some guesswork out of it.

From my experience, the kodak quality is one of the best. I have plenty of 4yr old kodaks lying around (in folders) without a problem. However, i also have some cheap cds that are fine too so... nevertheless, kodaks gave me like 1 coaster / 30-40 (back then) compared to others' 1 / 10 or so. I used to only use Kodak for a few months untill they cleaned out my pocket as i was paying $1.50/cd for them

for $20 plus shipping.
Heck 50 jewel cases alone at Wal-Mart
would be about $12.
Seems pretty HOT to me.

Just another plug for Kodak. They make some of the absolute best discs you can buy. I use kodak gold's for all of my archiving, and I've seen absolutely no deterioration in the discs.

Kodak is supposed to stop making CDRs, according to an old article at CDRInfo. Get 'em while you can, especially at these prices.

O.K. So what is considered better - these Kodak or the Fuji/TY that everyone raves on about ?

I have not had any problems with coasters (burnproof), but my main concern is data degradion(sp?). If I put my data on CD - I want it to be there when I need it.

They are both quality cd blanks that should give you an error free burn. But the Kodaks are likely to last far longer. If you want an archival copy...go for the Kodaks!

Yep, kodak are very good! I've got quite a few blank kodak gold ultimas that i bought about a year ago. I don't think these are the same "gold" ultimas because it mentions that the gold layer is ontop of the silver discs. Can anyone confirm there's a difference in these gold ultimas and the gold ultimas that have been around for a couple of years now? This is still a good deal because kodaks are so good. I wonder why kodak didn't/doesn't have their discs for sale at the major stores (discount and retail)? I remember i could never find them at a bm store and always had to order them online.

This is a pretty hot deal on the CDs. These are more expensive
than other CDRs, but they are also much better than others. The
main thing that differentiates the Kodak CDRs from their
cheaper brothers is their high quality scratch/damage resistant
coatings...

I have a bunch of Ty CDRs I got for around $9/50, but I think these
are a better deal, even if they are more expensive.

These should be the Gold/Silver Ultimas vs the Gold/Gold Ultimas that I believe topped out at 74min and were discontinued a while ago.

llreye...yes, the ultima golds i have are the 74 min ones. I think you are right that these (in this post) are the gold/silver ones. I don't remember ever seeing the gold/gold ones for 80 min. At one time i thought the gold/gold ultimas were better than the gold/silver ones, but i have no idea if that's really true.

On another note..... Does anyone have a problem with playing mp3 files on their dvd player if you use 80 min discs? I had a Toshiba (i think) dvd player/vcr unit that said in the manual to not use 80 min discs for your mp3 files. I only kept the unit a couple of days and ended up getting an Apex. I thought there was something wrong with the Toshiba because it had little pauses in the each mp3 track. Well, it turned out that i had put all my mp3 files onto cdr using packet writing software! I had no idea packet writing sofware cut up your mp3 songs into little parts that really made them unplayable. Needles to say i don't use packet writing for my mp3 files, but i have LOTS of cdrs that i used packet writing on. I guess i'm going to have to redo all of them and use Nero or something. I didn't find this out until i purchased the Toshiba dvd player because i always used my computer to play the files and there was no problem there. Just wondering if i'm the only person that ran into this problem!

Got in on this deal. Price is great to me, considering it usually costs $0.20 per for slim cases anyway, makes the discs $0.20 each - and no rebates to deal with. And you can see what this shipping is before hand to help decide how many you want - they charge by order value - not weight.

They had real Gold Ultima 74s last week-no screen print top(blank). Only bad thing about the 80s, is the crummy spindle itself and the slim jims are colored, with no box. LOL!
