Koch has been playing pro-Koch commercials on TV. Seen them lately? How the good old Koch brothers inc employs people, makes products that people need, including a precious parting shot of a little baby wearing what no doubt are Koch Industries manufactured diapers.
Lots of good feeling shots. Lots of smiling faces. Lots of happy employed people.
And that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but that isn't the issue here with Koch industries.

The problem is, while Koch employs people and manufactures stuff, the Koch brothers also want to control their thought process. Control elections. All elections. it doesn't matter what the state or the candidate. Let their money flow and be damned to what is best for localized politics.
The US Supreme Court ruled to allow employers to control their employees birth control.
The Koch brothers believe if you work for them or use their products, they know what is politically best for you and your politics. Not you, but them. They know what is best for you. You need not be concerned or question their agenda. Just go along.

Now, all we need is another Supreme Court decision granting Koch that very legal protection.
Just because they make things and employ people, Koch has the right to control what the people want. Determine the outcomes. Anywhere and any time they chose to get involved.
If the Koch brothers have an opinion, it must be your shared opinion as well.
Because while you might not only work for them or use their products, they feel entitled to ownership as well. Ownership of your thoughts, your politics, what ultimately has control and influence of your life.

Take to to the court bro. 5 to 4 guaranteed outcome in your favor.
Because you fully own five of the justices as well....

Yet you purchase and/or use items that line their pockets. Guess you need to move off the grid, oh that's right they also make products that are used in the alternate power industry as well.

I saw one of those commercials earlier today and thought it did a great job of cleaning up their image. I saw through it, of course, but the majority of people who don't pay much attention to politics probably know nothing about the evil side of the Koch family and will only know what they saw on the cute commercials.

Somehow I don't think the OP has the same complaint when govt tells him what to do. You know, the entity that has actual power to enforce what they want with guns and rule of law.

(1) Employees are free to purchase whatever BC they want with their own money

(2) How many employees have the Koch brothers fired for supporting liberal causes... yeah that is what I thought. Whereas it is a demonstrated fact that liberals like to get people fired for supporting conservative causes.

You know the government, the policies that are created from it, are controlled by the people. If the government does something we don't like we can vote them out. Now if someone messes with that power, ie weakens it. Then yeah, the government can make things pretty bad for its people.

You understand this right? You understand where the OP is coming from, right? I would then assume you get the point, right?

Health insurance provided to employees means their health insurance is their own money and like all other forms of compensation they should be free to use it how they damn well please. Once you get your first job and get a real girlfriend and not be dependent on other people, I'm sure you will get the point. Until then, keep taking your medication;)

I see you believe in a two party state that voting one out for the other means something. How much of our govt has been rolled back in the past 80 years exactly?

Now, how many times has Koch forced me or you to buy a product from them?

SCOTUS disagrees with you.

And rightly so. Its more like a gift card. Don't be all butt-hurt when your Walmart hating relative gets you a Target giftcard and you can't use it at Walmart.

Koch brothers take in $88M in corporate welfare; http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/...rothers-Takes-88-Million-in-Corporate-Welfare

And yet, their fawning fans on these forums treat them like they are untouchable and prime examples of capitalist ubermen.

They are blood sucking maggots. They have abused the working class and are taking advantage of our government. Yet, the ire goes towards a kid eating a government funded sandwich - not the gorging of nearly $100M by the Koch brothers.

Misanthropy is king on these forums.

Awww... Cute.... Someone who thinks the people control the government still. Someone who thinks voting someone out and replacing them results in completely different policy.

Yet I doubt this person has ever voted for anybody that didn't have a D next t their name.

You won't get any argument from me on how bad the Koch brothers are. But there IS a big difference between closely-held companies being given the latitude to not pay for certain forms of contraception and equating that with "controlling their employees' birth control." Note that since Koch Industries isn't a "closely held" company, Koch will NOT be able to opt-out of the full birth-control provisions of the ACA. And even if they could, that still wouldn't be equivalent to "controlling" the birth control of their employees. Even for closely-held companies, employees are free to choose any form of birth control they want (or no birth control); but if they choose a form of birth control that the closely-held company doesn't fund, the employees will need to pay for it out of their own pockets.

They already have that protection from the Supremes when Corporations were granted personhood in 2005.

That is why you are seeing all this now.

Why does everyone seem to forget that unions and associations were granted the same "personhood" status in this decision???

OMG! I'm so glad I have been educated. Here I thought for years I had the power of self-determination and the capacity to think for myself, but thanks to sportage I now know that the Koch bros. spend money on commercials and magically I have no ability to resist them. /sarc

Neither does he seem to get worked up when George Soros or Micheal Bloomberg dump millions into races they have no business in. Funny how this problem only cuts one way...

Don't buy their stuff. Georgia Pacific. Just look up what they make and avoid it. Someone should just come up with an app that you put what causes you want or don't want to support with your spending, and it will give you thumbs up or down when you scan a barcode. Until then, you gotta do it yourself.

HAHA I know, it is good for laughs.

Then they turn around and literally bend over for the biggest, most out of control institution of all- the government. They literally can't give the govt. enough power. Before any of them would ever wake up and realize how stupid that is, their puppet masters know they just have to distract them by ringing a bell *ding ding!* KOCH BROTHERS! *ding ding*

Now all that lefty emo-rage is focused on them.

Meanwhile, some other billionaire plays them like a cheap fiddle- writes a few paragraphs about how unfair it is to be rich (laughing his ass off with every keystroke) and the same emo-twits will worship that guy forever, even using his tale of fabulous wealth to beat over the heads of far less well off people. Leftists are such puppets.

So what's your point?

Don't like any of them having personhood status. It's bullshit.
