an mj lover we got. let's see, how many fights did MJ get into w/ Doug collins cause Collins wanted MJ to be more of a team player? MJ got collins fired. i mean, i c people writing about Emmitt Smith being a Stats hog. OMFG talk about a stats hog, look at MJ. There was a stats hog. w/o Phil Jackson and the triangle offense MJ is just another scorer.

Read "Timeout", the book about MJ. How could you not give the ball to MJ during crunch time? Everyone knew he would make it, and he made the crunch points 99%. He averages about 5-6 assists per game, nearly 3 steals per game over his whole career. During the 90s, he averaged about 6 assists. Now you tell me he's not a team player.

No, what i said was DURING the collins era he wasn't a team player. i characterized MJ as a whole by what he did under collins. Jackson reined him in a bit and molded a championship team, but under collins MJ was a problem.

I don't have to read any ridiculous autobiography to know what my eyes have already shown me.

Magic and Wilt were clearly in my opinion better players than MJ and if i had to pick 1 player to start a team, i'd take either of those before i'd take MJ. if you really pushed the issue, i'd take Wilt (even tho i've said magic at times too). but those were the 2 ultimate NBA players. give me a wilt and 1 other VERY good player and they will win championships.

people dont like kobe becuase:

1. Whenever he talks he always licks his lips a million times
2. His commercials suck
3. His head is pelican shaped
4. Doesn't dress in fancy clothes all the time

He's a good ball player, but he doesn't have enough good advertisement like NIKE did to Jordan

-Hubert :)

probably. :)

ya, 1-4 how many of these things have to do with what he does on the court? that's what i don't get about people. Kobe haters, Bonds haters, etc. they make such a big deal about what these guys do off the field. Bonds is an ass etc. who gives a flying fvck. me i'd rather go by what a player does on the court.

I am so disgusted with all of the crap that LeeTJ has posted.

LeeTJ is a Jordan hater, it is as simple as that. LeeTJ also needs to get off Kobe's ****

Don't you find it funny that the Lakers, who have won 3 championships in a row, lost to the bulls, who don't even have MJ anymore? Why switch Kobe with MJ on the bulls? The Lakers can't even beat the bulls without MJ.

lets see Spac3d is disgusted.

Evan Lieb says "You've defended yourself admirably LeeTJ, I can't see anyone here logically arguing a different point, especially since you have NBA knowledge that isn't just confined to just the 90's.

It's sad to see so many Laker/Kobe haters."

hmm, whos opinion do i value more. hmmm. this is soo hard.

HAH.

what about when MJ retires and Pippen takes the bulls to the Eastern conference finals, you think that Pippen and Kobe couldn't have beaten the knicks that year??

comon. stop with the nonsense, Kobe is a GREAT player. mb not MJ yet, but a GREAT player.
Amybe you should be comparing Kobe to Pippin in his prime. I'd give the edge to Kobe but he couldn't even wear MJ's Jock when MJ was in his Prime.

Kobe's Stats are getting fat because nobody knows how to play D any more and the competition isn't any where near the level that it was back when the Bulls were building themselves up to the Championship Caliber Team that the Lakers only aspire to achieve.

this is a false argument because shaq isnt just shaq, his 25mil/yr salary is like 1/3 of the lakers payroll. plus the lakers didnt know they would be without shaq until the last minute giving them precious little time to implement a new scheme, not that they would have anyways since once shaq comes back he is the focal point of the offense. but take away 25million dollars worth of players off of just about any team and you'll see their win% plummet.

you wanna talk kobe w/out shaq? then talk about lakers vs pacers in the nba finals 3 yrs ago when shaq fouled out in OT of game 3 (or whatever). or talk about the all star game the following year when, in the final minutes, the entirety of the arena knew who was getting the ball in the final minute with the game tied. not only did he score on both fg attempts in the final minute but one of those times it was a jumper over mutombo. and with time running out when he passed? brick tim duncan rebound brick chrissy webber

and let me just say something, jordan didnt become jordan until he started winning champtionchips - like 8 years into his career. before that he was only marginally better than dominque wilkins

That's blatantly false. Jordan was a Superstar and an American (at least an NBA) Icon before the Bulls won any Championships. Jordan also competed when there were a plethora of Players that would compare to Kobe if they were ball hogs like Kobe.

red i know ur old enough to know better so i'm going to have to assume that you must be from the chicago area.

No, MJ was NOT an american ICON before he won the championships. Bird, Magic, Bernard King, Worthy were all as big or bigger than Jordan at the time. it wasn't until after his 2nd championship that MJ's rep really took off.

Yes I'm old enough to remember. In fact I'm old enouhg to remember Wilt Chamberlain. Jerry West, John Havelcek , in fact I'm old enough to remember when my team, the Warriors beat the Bullets in 4 straight to win the Championship. Since I'm not a Bulls fan (and since Magic John Retired not a Lakers fan) I'm not letting my fanboy fanaticism interfere with my memory like it has yours. In fact if I were to dig around I'm sure I could find some original Air Jordans that I have packed up somewhere that I've owned since before the Bulls won a Championship. Your ignorance is not a compelling argument Lee.

That said, go ahead and think Kobe is the best, that's your perogative. Just don't expect us to buy your nonsense.

where did i say kobe was the best?? go back, i said that Wilt or Magic was the greatest. my only point here was that saying that kobe sucked just because the lakers don't have a winning record w/o Shaq is ludicrous.

additionally i did make comments indicating that i felt that MJ wasn't the best but that's NOT because i feel that Kobe is the best, quite to the contrary, i don't think kobe even makes the top 50 all time yet. he is at this point about what Dominique was in his prime. BUT the arguement that MJ Carried teams and Kobe didn't is ludicrous because NO MJ team that won a championship was ever as bad as the Lakers now w/o shaq.

btw, i grew up a HUGE Celtics and Bird Fan. I started college in '83 so i saw a lot of bird vs magic.

in the end, i thought then and still do believe that Magic and Wilt (who i didn't see in person but can based on statistics) is the greatest player ever in the NBA.

omg what an insult to dominique wilkins, easily one of the 50 greatest players ever!
