Phil was quoted as saying KB is the more "complete" player of the two. But you have to take his word with a grain of salt right? On a related note, if Kobe was assigned the PG position and didn't look for his shot, he'd probably be the second best PG behind Kidd. IMHO! Watch his games against SA and PHI in the playoffs. You can definately see his all around game.

MJ is the only player in any sport that could single handidly take control of any game at any time. And that was before he learned how to pass and won 6 Championships.

I can't stand how basketball (and many other sports) have moved away from the team game and towards the "money" players (Iverson, Carter, etc). I think sports would be better if these guys weren't making so much money and making their egos inflated.

<< Yeah, he might need to take 40 shots to get 40 pts >>

Let's see, if he went let's say 20/40 and sccored 40 points, that would be Kobe shooting 50 percent. 50 percent would get you a top 10 spot in the league leaders in feild goal percentage so that doesn't make much sense. Kobe already has a better jumper than Michael did at his age, and his fadeaway at age 22 is already close to the fadeaway Jordan had in his late 20's early 30's. He was in the top 10 in assists in the playoffs. He has won 2 championships. Made first and second team all defensive 2 years in a row. Won the slam dunk competetion at the age of 18. Phil Jackson has sad Kobe was the best player he's ever coached with an overall court game, better than Michael.

I'd say these are pretty good credentials. I think Kobe right now at his age is a better player than Michael was at his age. His offensive game has more variety than Michael's did at his age. You can throw up all the stats you want comparing both players stat's at age 22 but the fact of the matter is, lots of new rule changes have been made since the 80s which have made it harder to score points. Not to mention the athelete's in the NBA today are more quicker and stronger than when they were in the 80's. When did you see a crossover like Iverson's in the 80's? Nobody could to it because no one had the quickness to do it which backs up my point.

I think comparing Michael's full career to Kobe's full career is a joke. Kobe still has a lot to prove.
