People say Kobe will be the next Jordan but Jordan was never a BUTT PIRATE.

Yes he was a butt pirate why do you think he is no longer married.

I can't recall Jordan being charged with RAPE!!!

No he wasnt but you know as well I do that Jordan and plenty of other Pro stars can win the
the Butt Pirate award.

You sir are the WINNAR!

😀

I concur 100%

Jordan like most players knew how to keep the HO's in check. Unlike Kobe. 😉

I think defensively he is kind of overated. I would definitely swap him with Doug Christie in the defensive first and second team. I think Christie is a better defensive player than Kobe.

Not sue if he is over rated or not..but he puts up big numbers game after game and on top of that hes a clutch shooter and will make things happen. But i dont think he has the leadership that comes with the talent that he has.

I don't think Kobe is "clutch". Yeah he made a couple insane shots against Portland, but so what? Against the Rockets in game 1 he shot an airball 3 at the end (5 seconds left) that Shaq caught and slammed home for the win. In game 2 he had a clutch 3 pt play at the end that he just threw up after he was fouled and it went in after hitting the back of the rim and bouncing a couple of times. He did hit one against Denver this year, and one in 2000 against Phoenix but that's all I really remember... there are many NBA players with at least 3 or more game winners (think Robert Horry). Kobe has not earned the title of "clutch" yet, you never know whether he'll shoot an airball or a an insane shot for the win...

Kobe Bryant is not overrated.....

Kobe is a big part of the lakers team. Shaq alone could not have gotten the lakers 3 straight championships. Shaq cannot create off the dribble or shoot on the perimeter. But in the same regard, Kobe needs shaq as well. He is probably the most dominant center in this game period.

Kobe is a excellent player. Kobe can shoot the ball, has a killer fadeaway and is a excellent defender. There have been many things said about his leadership and greed. Does it really matter? If you look at the Lakers team, who is going to pick up the slack if Kobe doesn't score? The lakers need him. He is capable of scoring at least 30 on any given night. So perhaps he is greedy, but can you deny the results? 3 straight championships.

he is the definition of clutch.....if there is one player who i want to take a game winning shot it must be KOBE BRYANT, butt pirate

Maybe he came to the realization that he's not a one poon man.

his ex-wife decided that she needed to be the exclusive poon or nothing.lol

I read somewhere if i can recall it saying he had at least one mistress in every city that he played in.

Doesn't surprise me. I met a very tall attractive gal once who bragged that she along with another attractive gal had a threesome with Jordan. I thought she was lying at the time, but now I believe her.

I agree with everyone that in no way is Kobe overrated, but he has a bit more to prove that he is a "clutch" player in the same league as Reggie Miller.

how many rings does reggie have? kobe is not overrated. he is the best clutch player alive today. anyone who would argue otherwise has not watched the lakers regularly the past 4-5 years (especially the past 2). He's entered larry/magic/mj territory imho.

also, i remember at one time there was a stat about PPG in the 4th quarter. Kobe was right up there (maybe 1st, i can't remember). clutch doesn't always mean last second shots. clutch can mean scoring when it's time to win the game.

Seriously, he's a huge bust. Franchise player -- my arse. He'll never be able to carry a team the way he handles injuries. He sits when he has a paper cut.

Don't forget CWebb. He hasn't been big like EVER. He's cracked every year in the playoffs (and the infamous Time Out call...).

I don't agree with that. He is probably one of the best. The only other player in NBA that is kinda similar (no great) is Emanuel Ginobli. The best part about Lakers is that they can trash talk but have the guts to back all trash talk.. Very few players do that !!

Go Lakers !!

i'm a laker-hater, and as much as it pains me to say it, kobe is probably the best all-around player in the league right now. i agree that ginobli plays a lot like kobe. for D, i'll still take bruce bowen over either christie or kobe....

Half man, half season... VC

Despite his legal troubles, Kobe can play. He can get some hangtime on his dunks. If lakers don't win it, I hope Wolves do.

You could also argue that Kobe didn't play hard for three quarters, which is why he scores more in the 4th.

even I, as a King's fan, have to admit that the laker's would be nothing without kobe. He is far from overrated, he is worth every penny...

..unless you take into account that he is a rapist.

W/out Shaq, Kobe would not be as good.. He never gets double teamed b/c he plays on the same side as Shaq.

Kobe minus Shaq equals T-MAC

Not saying that Kobe is not good. Hes just not on Jordans level.

Kobe never gets double teamed? WTF? He always gets double-teamed, and soemtimes triple-teamed. Heck when he drives to the basket he brings the entire opponents team with him.

wait a sec.... last year when kobe scored 40 points a game for like 10 straight games... wasn't shaq sitting on the sidelines nursing an injury? i think kobe will be fine without shaq. just wait and see... next year... if i have the 1 or 2 pick in my fantasy league... i'm taking garnett first... or kobe second. kobe's gonna put up MONSTER numbers next year... assuming he leaves the lakers.

i forgot who asked the question, but max kellerman is going to have a show on fox sports. i saw him on some late night show talking about it.
