Kobe needs to keep his big mouth shut, they would lose 10/10 times to the 92 team. Even past their prime Bird & Magic would be better than everyone except Lebron, Durant & whoever you consider #3 in the league right now. People who say Magic was past his prime are hilarious to me. He wasn't in his prime but he was still a beast. The worst player on that team imho was Mullen or Latiner, both of which are HOF'ers. And both would still be better than 75% of this bullshit 2012 team.

Kobe really needs to never speak again again spewing this fucking nonsense.

Laettner is a HOF'er?

at the same time though it was awfully lackluster on the half of Nigeria.
Sure Carmelo hit 10 3pters. nobody was within 10 ft of him for half.

That Nigeria team really did suck, but you know what? The competition that '92 team faced during the whole tournament was probably just as bad if not worse.

Nigeria actually had a few NBA journeymen on their roster and tons of Div I players.

I guess that TECHNICALLY, Laettner is a HOFer since the entire Dream Team was inducted. That's being very generous with the term "HOFer" though -- Laettner did not make the HOF on his own, which the other 11 members of the team did.

It's true, but like you mentioned they were insanely efficient. Open shots aren't guaranteed makes. But I didn't watch the game, though I'd like to catch a replay and see for myself

The Soviet Union was good, and if they weren't broken up for the 92 games they would have put up a good fight.

Not necessarily true. Remember, most of the stars of the Soviet national team were Lithuanian. The Dream Team would've crushed a Soviet team just as they did the others.

Someone doesn't know basketball.

92 was the first olympics where pros were allowed, ie that's how far behind the rest of the world was when we decided to go all out with pros

one doesn't even need to know basketball to put that together

you're just living in the nostalgia of the past

Uh, Croatia and Lithuania both had NBA players (as did Germany and I'm sure others). You were saying?

Also, to correct your statement, it was the first Olympics in which *NBA* pros were allowed. Other countries had their pros playing for them for many years before.

And do any teams in the Olympics this year besides the US have 10+ NBA players? I didn't think so.

ok, by your logic they have more NBA players than in 92 and they're staying closer in these games and/or by my logic the rest of the worlds non NBA players are catching up to NBA level over the past 20 years

where do I lose here in this argument?
