There is something very, very sad about all of this.Maybe I'm too old fashioned or perhaps too idealistic but the notion that we can treat people and their feelings like objects really bums me out. A husband of mine caght doing something like this would be bad enough but his attempting to bribe me...well let's just say that would ensure a divorce.

Wrong. Quite wrong.

You haven't been around married people who've cheat before I assume.
I'm married and I'm 32 so I've certainly seen my share of marital disasters. I'm not saying some women won't go for the monetary "I'm sorry." but there are just as many (my wife for example) who would see right through that kind of BS.

Congratulations then. (<---I'm serious) Your wife is like the top 5% of women out there who won't put up with men's BS.

Hehe.....she's in the "Will Beat Your Ass Senseless At Any Hint of Male Retardation" category. Not that I mind at all; I can't stand women who let their spouses walk all over them. :frown:

Nah...she's really cool about me spending so much time on the bike. Keeps me thin, happy, she gets a hubby with nice legs to boot. :D

In all fairness, your $4M computer would be worth very little in a few years, whereas the ring (even considering that jewelry has some of the highest profit margins of any retail product), would hold its value very well, and would appreciate over longer periods of time.

"The Lakers star called what he did adultery. You can call what he bought his wife, Vanessa, whatever you want: damage control or sincere apology attempt."

I saw recently in Wired that they're selling off old Cray computers as funky furniture.
