I'm thinking Kobe is heading to Dallas ala the Cuban factor. I don't know how he'd head to Miami.

He wouldn't head to Miami.

Cuban loves Dirk. I'm a Dallas fan and I'd trade Dirk for Kobe in a heartbeat. Any trade for Kobe will have to be blockbuster - one megastar for another...short of the Dirks, Nash's, Yao Mings, LeBrons, etc, there isn't anyway the Lakers are going to move the guy.

Not true, the Lakers could bail out on next year and move Kobe for expiring contracts and 1st rounders.

If the Lakers had the foresight to include a supply of Monistat 7 in Kobe's contract, they wouldn't be in this mess.

Sore loser? He's an amazing athlete stuck on a team goin nowhere. He has accomplished all he can with the LA Lakers

Amazing athlete? There are at least 50 guys in the NBA right now that are just as good as Kobe. Give them the same "white glove" treatment he gets from the NBA (i.e. gets the benefit of the call when driving with or handling the ball, gets to take 3-4-or more steps to the hoop after picking up the dribble, etc etc) and there you go. All the Kobe's, LeBron's, McGrady's, Hill's, etc need to thank their lucky charms that the NBA needs "superstars" on the court because it sure won't survive from actual skill.

It is clear from this post you are a NASCAR fan.

Yeah, that or they could have bothered to acquire some talent.

you would need to trade NY entire starting 5 to get equal value out of kobe. and even thats pushing it. If he goes anywhere, it will need to be either: superstar for superstar (unlikely) or Kobe for 3+ GOOD players

but, isn't what kobe is doing now basically what iverson did last year? if he is to be traded, the Lakers would probably want to do it before the season begins, if the season starts and Kobe remains a Laker, would you want him on your team, a displeasured superstar that would ndo nothing but destroy team chemistry further? and you probably don't want to pay him while he's sitting at home doing nothing. you probably rather get a few good players for him, instead of trading dollar for dollar.

kobe is better than iverson. iverson cant carry a team the way kobe does (comes close). This is different though, the 76ers were terrible, LA still made the playoffs because of him. His teamates are crap for the most part, and its not like they would be any worse if the other starters boycotted him.

you're still retarded.

I've lost a lot of respect for Kobe after this. This whole thing sounds very orchestrated. Kobe knows his chances of winning with the Lakers are quite small, and is rehashing 3-4 year old beefs to give credence to him wanting out.

If one thing is for certain, he is no Michael Jordan and never will be. He is no leader, in fact he reminds me a lot of T.O right now.

i think there's some truth to what he said, that he did not orchestrate shaq's departure, no matter how much the shaq-kobe fight lasted, they did win 3 rings together after all.

and there's no reason why shaq would confirm what kobe said, unless they're for some reason BFFs now. but he did, so i think Buss is to blame for the destruction of the LAkers

what does nascar have to do with it?

Remember Kobe stayed around with all these guys saying he would try to make the team better. He stuck around for a while and they are doing nothing about it. What really hurt them is the 2 injuries of Brown and Odom for the trades. I give Kobe some credit because at least he gave it a go to see how the team would be for a while. They didn't perform and now he wants to go somewhere where he can win championships. The guy has so much talent and you can't blame him. He feels like the talent is getting waisted because of the piss poor managing of the Lakers. I have lived in LA my whole life and Kobe himself has been a second Lakers dynasty. It will be sad to see him go.

only a few teams i see can make this happen:

Boston
New York
Chicago
Dallas
Phoenix
Golden State

Kupchak is going to get the best deal he can for Kobe, and that's that. And given his negotiating skills and prowess as an Nba GM, that probably means Kobe's going to Atlanta for a 2nd rounder. 😛

It's no shocker that the Lakers team is going to heck in a handbasket under Kupchak's watch.

most likely dallas or chicago out of those choices, lakers would wanna avoid trading within same division let alone conference, and kobe wouldn't wanna goto a terrible team

Lots of Kobe-hate. Is he really that much of a drama queen? Or are all of you just assuming that he actually ran Shaq out of town? I doubt he did, since Shaq himself says it was probably the Lakers, not Kobe.

I don't care that much, as the NFL is far superior to the NBA, but it'd be a shame if NBA fans refused to appreciate a player that is arguably the greatest scorer in basketball history. Not greatest player, necessarily, but perhaps greatest scorer.
