Wow, what a guy. Went 15/28 scoring 36 points tonight against the 76ers. He also passed up Jerry Stackhouse to be the new scoring leader in the NBA.

Ballhog? 15-28 tonight. Plus he's shooting over 47% on the year, and 40% from three. When he can shoot percentages like that, keep shooting!! One word to describe Kobe: Butta!

Kobe is a fucking badass. That pass that Shaq threw over his shoulder and Kobe did the one-hand slam dunk, that was crazy. Chick Hearn went crazy. Kobe averages 5 or 6 assists per game. The Lakers have been playing tite, except for that Sonics game. We'll get them.

late.

Share the ball...with who?...do you really want to give the ball to Shaq right now when hes slumping, his free throw shooting (~38%) has gone from bad to the "even I could do better" stage

Kobe had a good game. His all black shoes, the Kobe, are tight too.

Tim Duncan also had a good today. 23 points, 23 rebounds. Good output for my fantasy team..

jcballer1: Yea......OK Sprewell? lol Name me any category, any quality, or any move and Kobe destroys Sprewell. Sprewell isn't even in the top 5 guards in the NBA.

1) Kobe Bryant
2) Gary Payton
3) Jason Kidd
4) Eddie Jones
5) (it pains me to say it, but as of right now) Reggie Miller

BTW, all those other guys you mentioned, how many championships have they won?

Umm ok I'm a Knicks fan, but to compare Spree to Kobe??? WTF are you thinking? Kobe is the best SG in the league right now, no doubt about it.

yah i gotta go with prodigy here, i'm a big Knicks fan too, but kobe's got an edge of sprewell. and in terms of the top guards i think y'all forgett'n about iverson (as much of a ballhog he is) and allen houston. oh and not to mention one of the greatest point guards ever, john stockton (no desrespect to kidd)

Edge on Spreewell? Come on, in a game of one on one Kobe would probably beat Spreewell 11-4. There is no contest. Kobe is already the cream of the crop. The only thing he is working on now is taking the crown from Jordan.

trmiv:

I think marbury has to be included on that list of top 5 guards. maybe in place of eddie jones.

First of all, I have to thank focusyn for mentioning the best point gaurd, EVER. John Stockton.

So, does Kobe have any D?

I rarely watch the Lakers 'cuz #1 I hate them, and #2 Shaq is a big tub 'o goo!!!

I also need to remind everybody to keep an eye on the new Jazz rookie Deshawn Stevenson. He's got both the D and the O and he's only 19.

Stockton may not be the player with the most flash, but the white man can play!! All time steals leader and all time assist leader. Plus the Jazz are currently first place in the west.

Elbryn: I thought about putting him at number 5 on my list in place of Reggie ( I can't stand Reggie Miller), but no way ahead of Eddie Jones. Eddie Jones is so high on the list because of DEFENSE, something people forget about. I put Reggie above of Marbury because of his uncanny ability to take over a game, and he has been doing it for years.

How All NBA First Team Defense last season? Not to mention the fact that he shut down Iverson last night. 9-27 for Iverson, and at least 8 of Iverson's points came when the game was deceided.

I won't even touch your comment on Shaq because you don't want a flame war. :)

And, the best point guard EVER is Magic Johnson. How many championships has John Stockton won?

reggie belongs no where near top 5 that lil crybaby, all he does is screen off and shoot, to scared to go for a layup, and if im wrong, point me to a link where hes a highlight on a lay up, cause i know he wont dunk..might brake a nail.

sorry i hate miller

1. stockton
2. kobe
3. payton
4. iverson
5. ...not reggie..not eddie..not spree,(im a knick fan too) maybe AJ (i dont think he rotates to this position any more)

bigbootydaddy,

Haha...that's exactly how I feel about Reggie Miller. What a pansy ass! As for point guards...where's Jason Williams on that list? I think he's an excellent point guard to watch. He just needs a little more experience and voila! The flashiest, most revved-up point guard this side of....I dunno. He's damn exciting to watch though.

I think Sprewell and Houston are the best tandem guard-wise, in the NBA. They IS GOOD, YO! As much as I hate to say it...Kobe's gotta be one of the most dangerous, if not THE most, player in the NBA.

I agree with trmiv in regards to the best point guard ever...sure Stockton is the best pure point guard, but Magic can do so much more, plus he was a winner/leader, not like John Stockton, who needs a Karl Malone(put stockton on team w/ team of Worthy, Scott, AC, and Vlade and see if he can get them to the finals)

And about Kobe, I think he's awesome and all, but he's a little too cocky for my liking. But then again, when you are that good, I guess you have reasons to be cocky. And yes, he is the best SG in the league, not Sprewell or anybody else on this planet. :)

Looks like you all are a little mad at my SUPERSONICS, eh? Well well well, I just want to point out that Payton will shut down any guard in the league on any given night.

Either way, that was probably a fluke, because we are weak at off guard and small forward, and you guys have good players in both positions.

Still, WOOOOOO get off the supes... muwhaaha..

tho i am a HUGE lakers fan...I gotta give it to stockton (even tho he likes to act along with the mailman)

he is consistant, not flashy....

In his interview bout retiring, he mentioned that he wanted his reputation impeccable and leave basketball with honor and respect! it was a article bout iverson's controversial rap album vs. the old skool ppl like stockton

those type of ppl, I highly respect more than the show of basketball...

I like Allen Houston too...consistent...
