don`t you find your post inappropriate in this kind of thread?

I don’t find it as inappropriate as mourning a sex offender.

This is not the place for that type of posting.
You will cease posting in this thread if you can't behave appropriately.

Nonsense, Kobe is borderline top 10 All-time NBAer.
Not even borderline Mt. Rushmore, and certainly not borderline GOAT.
I agree, not even close to Jordan. If in my top ten at all, he would certainly be at or near the bottom.
Never was a fan of his as a person or a player, but still very sad and shocking for his remaining family.

It's not appropriate to post such a thing, this thread is to mourn his and others loss. Let someone else judge his actions in the past.
Anyway in the end, karma will get you no matter how long it takes.

-Better hope your dad wasn't into any shady stuff, karma don't fuck around...

Maybe the real villain here is the wife... After all she's left with the guilt and suffering of having lost a husband and daughter on the same day. Wonder what kind of dirt Karma had on her...

Actually, what if one of the people he was on the helicopter with was actually the Zodiac Killer, and Kobe + daughter + 7 other people were just collateral damage? Karma want to make an omelette, Karma gotta crack some eggs...

jordan is better i agree. reggie miller was better than kobe. RIP though

I am 100% in disbelief right now. On ESPN they said 4 of his children all daughters, including the newborn were believed to be on board as well.
Tonight, news report was that it was just him and his 13 YO daughter Giana, another man (a coach) and his daughter, crew, 4 others unnamed as of yet. They were flying from John Wayne Airport in Orange County to an airport north of L.A., I think in Ventura County. Sounds to me like engine trouble. Witnesses said the craft was losing altitude precipitously and that the engine didn't sound OK.

You *do* know this isn't real, right? Because it's not. Karma does not actually exist, it's a funny phrase to say, but it's not a real thing.
I'm very well aware that it's just a made up word in the belief that one's actions (good/bad) has consequences to them later on. Just like the saying "What goes around comes around". 🙄🙄🙄

If the ceiling was 1100ft @ Van Nuys and the pilot reported that his altitude was 1400ft north of Burbank. He flew into the soup aka. clouds. That is based on the radio communications. I don't understand why a pilot would fly in those conditions. Why didn't the pilot put the bird down and tell them to drive the rest of the way to their destination?

I know witnesses said they engine didn't sound right. But if you are traveling 160kts and become disoriented in the clouds. Climbing rapidly and descending rapidly. How is an engine over stressed by physics supposed to sound?

Besides Kobe and daughter Gianna, there were the Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife, Keri, and daughter, Alyssa, as well as Christina Mauser, an assistant girls basketball coach at a K-8 private school in Orange County and Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton.

From Kobe’s official statement regarding the civil case against him

“Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she feels that she did not consent to this encounter.”

Innocent men do not pay out 2.5 million dollars.
And truly raped people don't drop charges. I can play this game too.

Please stop posting in this manner.

This is so tragic, 9 lives snuffed out. I'm wondering what their last seconds looked like, them knowing that they are about to die. 🙁

Who said anything about rape . She told him to stop but he wouldn’t.
I see you don't know the definition of rape. We're done here.

This is not the place for this discussion. Let it go.

Folks, we realize OT is legendary for irreverence. However, in "condolence" threads such as this, we must insist that posters confine themselves to positive remembrances and respectful comments. Posters who cannot or will not hew to this directive will be infracted.

Saw this news yesterday. Beyond tragic for those involved.

Though I'm a Philly area native and a B-ball fan going all the way back to the Wilt and the Philadelphia Warriors, I must admit that I was never a huge fan of Kobe the person or of the "hype" that surrounded his LA Laker career.

No matter. His career speaks for itself, especially, in my mind, his 5 time "all defensive" awards and twice being the finals MVP.

And although s0me0nesmind1 is inaccurate in his in his claim that Kobe was ever the top scorer of all-time and I would laugh in the face of anyone who would claim he was better than Mr. Michael Jordan, what Kobe accomplished over nearly two decades has certainly cemented his place in the general top tier of pro hoops Valhalla.

It is beyond weird that he died just a day or so after LeBron surpassed him in career scoring. It reminds me of the incandescent Roberto Clemente dying in a plane crash right after collecting exactly 3,000 hits.

So, no matter my opinions from the cheap seats, this is a tragic loss for his surviving family and huge circle of friends and fans, and for B-ball aficionados our world over.

RIP, Mamba. 🙁
