So two months before overdosing someone called the cops on her and she was hospitalized for being a "danger to herself".
And more on her mental health from
CBSNews Sportsline...
However, the fact she may have serious mental health issues is certainly no guarantee Kobe will be acquitted if it goes to trial. Get this:
A very well liked 50-something year old county sheriff in Michigan was convicted of raping a sheriff's department employee during a trip to a Michigan Indian casino resort. The [married] sheriff claimed it was consentual, the woman claimed it was not. There were no injuries, all evidence could support consentual intercourse as well as it would forcible rape. It all boiled down to he said - she said.
At trial, the woman plainly admitted having mental health problems and was prescribed a Prozac/Zoloft type anti-depressent drug. She was asked if she had been drinking that evening, and she admitted she had been drinking. She was further asked if her doctor ever informed her of the risks of interactions which might be precipitated by consuming alcohol while taking the medication, she responded that she was aware of the risk, 'but it was no big deal because
she did it all the time and never had a problem before.'
The sheriff, who was somewhat of a 'pillar-of-the-community-type' with zero history of being associated or accused of rape in his 50-something years, was convicted and is currently serving a seven year prison sentence.
