Suicide is not the act of rational mentally stable person. The fact that she attempted suicide doesn't mean her motives might have been money. It means she's slightly off it and who knows what the hell her motives could have been.

Could be she was just depressed.....and also got raped as well.

That was a long time ago. It has really no significance to Kobe assaulting her or not.

not fi your on Kobe's defense team. It could be the start of a very damaging case against her even if it had zero to do with the case.

This whore's gonna wish she never filed a suit! Everyone's gonna know everything about her and the rest of her life will be ruined! As for Kobe, people will remember, but once the Lakers win the CHampionship everyone will praise Kobe.

Not if he's in a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison they won't.

Hmm the plot thickens.

http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2003/0724/1585314.html

So two months before overdosing someone called the cops on her and she was hospitalized for being a "danger to herself".
And more on her mental health from CBSNews Sportsline...

However, the fact she may have serious mental health issues is certainly no guarantee Kobe will be acquitted if it goes to trial. Get this:

A very well liked 50-something year old county sheriff in Michigan was convicted of raping a sheriff's department employee during a trip to a Michigan Indian casino resort. The [married] sheriff claimed it was consentual, the woman claimed it was not. There were no injuries, all evidence could support consentual intercourse as well as it would forcible rape. It all boiled down to he said - she said.

At trial, the woman plainly admitted having mental health problems and was prescribed a Prozac/Zoloft type anti-depressent drug. She was asked if she had been drinking that evening, and she admitted she had been drinking. She was further asked if her doctor ever informed her of the risks of interactions which might be precipitated by consuming alcohol while taking the medication, she responded that she was aware of the risk, 'but it was no big deal because she did it all the time and never had a problem before.'

The sheriff, who was somewhat of a 'pillar-of-the-community-type' with zero history of being associated or accused of rape in his 50-something years, was convicted and is currently serving a seven year prison sentence.

Where did you hear that story? That's flat out crazy. Jesus, it's truly scary to know that you could be falsely accused of something some day and you life could be in the hands of 12 complete morons like that

Jury's are composed of bums who have no job, disgruntled laid off employees with a chip on their shoulder, Susie B Housewife who will always side with the woman, and the 1 intelligent man/woman out of 5000 that decides to take time off from work to go. Getting tried by a jury is a joke, so is jury selection. I would have to lie through my teeth to ever be approved by a defense team, especially on a capital murder trial.

if half of what is being said about the accuser is true then this case is dead. drug overdoses, suicide attempts, etc.... man oh man is she f'd up in the head or what? there have even been reports that she attended a party after the incident and was bragging about the inncedent. and probably the most damaging, in my opinion, was the account of her reaction as she watched the kobe bryant news conference. it was reported that her reaction wasnt shock that kobe would lie (by proclaiming his innocence) but apparent jealously that kobe's wife was sticking by him. now what rape victim is gonna give a rats ass about the wife of the man that raped her??

Does the girl who claims she was sexually assaulted by Kobe get anything out of this case?

probably the same think she got from overdosing and suicide attempts - attention. and then of course theres the fact that she can potentially see a large chunk of cash out of this.

Seriously, do you people use your brain before typing out what you consider are these brilliant replies??? I won't even touch what TommyVarmoron said, the idiocy of it just speaks for itself.
Do you idiots even realize that prior hospitalizations or incidents like this that supposedly happened are not even allowed to be brought up in court, just for the fact that the defense can't attack her credibility and turn it around to her being on trial for something that has absolutely nothing to do with the rape charges? And, even if it is true that she overdosed, I suppose that means that she wasn't raped. Nobody that has ever been hospitalized has been raped, right? And, the media has never turned something simple and blown it way out of proportion to garner ratings, right? Goddam, you people amaze me how retarded some of your logic is at times.
