Known Issues with Farcry demo and NV40??

I can't see water effect and lighting is badly rendered. Also there's not the DX9 shiny effect. Tried WHQL drivers and the ones that came in the Asus CD. Is there a known issue with the demo?

I have the same problem. I get multicolored textures on the ground and very bad looking water.

I've had it too, but updating farcry to v1.3 fixed it

That Far Cry demo was released before the GeForce 6800 line came out and is known to have issues with those cards, since it was never patched. The real Far Cry game works well with the NV40 line with patches 1.1-1.3 applied.

It's a problem with the demo - version 1.3 of the full game works very well on NV40 cards.

Ok thanks guys 😉 I wanted it to compare it to my old 9800pro. Everything else works great.
