Well I would but: "Oops something went wrong! Either the site is offline or an unhandled error occurred."

I'll give it another shot later.

I tried - no go...

It's about midnite EDT and I finally got in and signed up - no problem with the sign up form for me. But I won't be going back much if it doesn't speed up really quick.

I bet it's all of the "rate my rig" posts that are bringing their server(s) down. I'm sure they'll get the issue(s) resolved.

Will they give us a discount for providing free tech support ?

Will they waive the restocking fee for members ?

1) Newegg isn't providing support there; the forum members are AFAIK.
2) Newegg has been waiving the restock fee (in most cases) as long as I phone them to speak with a CSR.

Haha! I was wondering when the egg would get around to starting a forum. Many people try to use the Review section to post for help and expect replies, and I rarely see someone address their specific issue.

Here's an example of the people that will be using their board:

Product: NEC 7170A DVD RW - OEM
Tech Level: High
User: Whatever

Pro's: I don't know, I can't get it to work without any cables!
Con's: This drive is BS! It doesn't come with any cables or software or ANYTHING but the bare drive!
Other Thoughts: I wish newegg could include some cables to hook this thing up.

And that is not a lie! That was a reviewer with a supposed "high level" of tech knowledge.
He will probably be one of the founding guru's of the site.

OT, but what is the deal with the search function? Just for kicks, I typed "newegg" in the
"search these messages" box. No results found! Oh well.

Why don't some of us join in just to lure those helpless fellas to come over here for a real good and helpful forum! I've been an AT'er for more than 5 years and always find it decent, helpful and very insightful.

I don't see what incentive there is to join eggXpert when there's already a perfectly good forum for techno folks - AT. If anything, I'd just suggest to all there to go ahead and migrate to here where you can find actual useful information from people who generally do know what they're talking about.

Come on, that it is an easy mistake. It is easy to confuse Tech Level with Intoxication Level ... especially when one is High
