The problem with having too many things that make life easier is you end up with an incompetent and lazy population.

No Dbag im not. I have other stuff to do with my time then waste it cleaning up.

or "A car that parks itself? how lazy can america get?"

Man o man. If every female and elderly person had a car that could park itself I would be a much happier camper.

I dont understand why people look at stuff that makes life easier and automatically give it a negative connotation. You dont tell everyone with a car how lazy they are because they dont walk do you? Seriously, just because you do things a more difficult way doesnt make you special. In my eyes it makes you kinda dumb. Reading a map doesnt give you character in the same way having a robot vacuum doesnt make you lazy.

Some things are good skills to have but if I can do something faster or better then im going to. Im not going to do standard deviation calculations on paper when I can have excel do them in seconds.

and thats what really grinds my gears. Put me on TV

What so actually being able to do something makes you dumb, but being a lazy ass makes you a genius? You're not smart, you're lazy, get over yourself. And you're not a lazy ass because you don't vacuum or use excel, you're a lazy ass because you've obviously been spoon fed your entire life and have no idea what you're talking about.

hahaha I hope you were trying to prove my point but just in case...

Read this closely because based on your post I worry about your reading comprehension. Someone is dumb if they know how to do something, know there is an easier/better way of doing it, but still insists on doing it the harder way simply because they "dont need those new fangled gadgets". I am not lazy. I have not been spoon fed my entire life. I have had a job since I was 14. It was as a plumber; digging ditches is not easy work. I imagine you are this exact type of retard who refuses to adopt any new tech because youre elitist attitude doesnt let you. In your dumb little mind it makes you lazy to use tech to your advantage.

I even bolded and underlined the important part for you. Hopefully you can see that and arnt using a printed piece of paper w/ some holes because a computer monitor makes people lazy.

Unless your Amish or the like, you have no right to call people lazy who use technology to make their lives easier.

the things u listed are more for luxury.

some people like saving money by not having to buy a gps system or a roomba that can't vacuum ur car and etc....

big grease sucking bastards with their big gas swilling SUV's are just too damm lazy to park
it and walk 20 feet into the store. I park it and walk in, usually getting my food twice as fast
and as Joe Pesi says, "they **** you at the drive through cause they know your gonna be 10
miles away when you find out your order is ****'ed up"....

Would you rather those people were inside, in front of you in line?

Yes, then I'd be the only one in the drive-thru!

and you drive automatic because it's just easier. i get it. once they come out with those automatic f*cking machines (unless they're already out) i'm sure you'll be the first to hop on it. just because it makes life easier. some things are done just for the pure enjoyment of it.

i read maps...sometimes it gives you a sense of knowing the area. hell, my friends call me asking for directions and i either use google maps or give em directions from memory.

i vacuum...i make sure the ground is clean and if i go to my parent's place to do it, it might make my mom feel better.

i park my own car...anyone that has a license and can't park should get shot. getting out of a spot is only half of it. you gotta be able to get back in the same spot too.

i have no idea what kind of psychology you use to justify what you say. you've given 2 retarded examples. the gps one is fine to a degree but it's still a luxury and isn't always the best substitute.

maybe you, since you stated in the OP that you have better things to do, should get off your chair and do something useful instead of rant on AT

My whole point was that its annoying when people who dont use luxuries degrade other people that do. I wasnt trying to advocate using tech everywhere its available I was just pointing out that there are some places that its useful.

It seems the longer some tech/advance is available the more acceptable it is to some people. Some people hate new stuff because they view the early adopters as lazy and condemn them for using it. This spawns the "why use a GPS? cant you read a map" comments that annoy the hell out of me.

I dont really get why the vacuum and car parking examples were retarded? Is it because you view them as luxuries? The fact that they are luxuries doesnt mean a damn thing because my original point had nothing to do with whether something was a luxury or not. It had to do with people who didnt adopt new tech because of the idea of it making the user lazy.
