looking for two short monologues for an audition
about one minute each
one comedy, one serious

anybody know any? or a good source for monologues?

The Vagina?

He said about a minute long. The Vagina Monologues is a little over two hours performance time IIRC, and seem more like two years if you're actually forced to watch.

um.. in romeo and juliet the friar has some nice monolauges. and i mean nice... hamlet of course not only the ones hamlet says but you could try one of the ones that player one or player king have. voldtemont's are like a news report... yeah i would say shakespear. or pick up almost any play with an elizibeithen feel and you should find one

that was a great read

but it was a speech, and i wouldn't consider that a monologue......i am looking for a monologue that can showcase the speaker's acting abilities as well, not just his public speaking skills

Ever see/hear Bob Newhart do his phone conversations, where you only see/hear him and not the other part of the conversation.

They're great. I like the one he had about the "discovery" of tobaco (sp?).

Might be good for the comedy bit.
