I was wondering if any of you knew of any cases or articles on lawsuits dealing with deep linking. Any help would be appreciated

Deep linking is the practice where one website will link to content on another, unaffiliated site, bypassing their homepage in the process. Some companies object to this because they feel they're being cheated out of advertising revenue, and there may be copyright issues involved as well. The argument in favor of deep linking is basically that if you outlaw it, a significant portion of the usability of the web will be rendered illegal. A good place to start your research would be to search Slashdot archives, as they've had a number of postings on this subject.
