knoppix giving error when burning cds

I'm trying to backup some of my pictures from an unbootable hd using knoppix. I have a 48x cd burner with 12x generic blank cds. I recieve the error almost immediately after i click "burn." The error it gives me is "unknown error code-12 / cannot allocate memory." I have 1gb system memory. I desperately want those pictures! any help would be greatly appreciated. :]

If you are having burner problems, or you have a bad image. Run an md5 hasher against the image you downloaded, and compare the results against what they have for the image you have. This way you can rule out the image and focus on the burner. Or vice versa.

Try burning your disc/s as root.
