it looks pretty cool. pacifist for the most part here though.

**EDIT**
Plus put any of these guys against a pro boxer and their dead.

All of those open punches would be taken advantage of by anyone trained in boxing. Most swing to largely. Some of those guys are scary fighters though.

I would love to see a good boxer in pride or the ufc. I think it really would upset the way a lot of these guys play their game. Of course the boxer would need to learn some different footwork and defenses for takedowns and a little ground work, but a solid boxer would be great to watch.

Boxer don't do well in MMA. They've come and gone and they are EXTREMELY easy to beat. They'll need to add a whole bunch more skill sets to be able to compete.

You are talking about amateur boxers, not pro boxers. Pro boxers would have a field day.

A boxer is used to leaning into his apponent and taking some shots and giving some shots, then the rest and do it again. UFC is non stop. Besides a boxer isn't going to know what to do when he covers up and a knee or shin smashes him in the head.

This is true too however. So a pro boxer would have to be trained a little different. Punching technique though, a pro boxer will obviously win with a little training to take kicks and knee blows.

You have no idea what youre taking about. Pro boxer might do ok - but in the end they would get destroyed. There's a reason why the MMA fighters are not pure boxers or even focused that much on boxing. The ground game would DESTROY any boxer pro or not. Learning a couple of moves for the ground game or learning how to ake knees or kicks would not do jack.

Hmmmm... good point. Ground and grappling fighting is very different. But I still think a pro boxer would kick ass though. Put Mike Tyson in UFC and I am sure he could kill some of them. Because it would come to the first few blows with a pro boxer because they hit so hard.

**EDIT**
I will say that I don't watch too much of this crap. Pacifist myself. Although I do know how to fight and defend myself. But a ground game is decided usually by whoever is on top. You knock someone down and you basically win, unless they are much better than you skill wise. A pro boxer would knock the person down first, and then just pound on them. It would be interesting to see.

The thing is that the boxer would have to hope the MMA fighter would stand and box with him. The first few blows ain't gonna happen if they're worried about getting their legs grabbed and thrown down. You have to worry about multiple venues of attack when fighting in MMA. Boxing - you just have to worry about the punches.

Actually, interestingly enough - lots of ground games have been won by the guy on the bottom. That's why grappling is so "dangerous."

Sweeps don't work most of the time unless you are fighting someone a lot more inexperienced than you. They actually can get you hurt.

For instance, my dad can sweep me off my feet with a single kick to my legs, but no one I know other than him can do that. If they tried I would just duck my head in and knock them down.

Again if the grappler is much more experienced, he will win. But in most cases, grappling won't win over straight up pounding.

I'm not talking about sweeps. I'm referencing the take down that grapplers do. It's w wrestling take down. It's low and a boxer won't be able to defend.

You need to watch MMA to really understand what it means when a grappler os down. Many times, people can't even get in any good pounding when they are in a mount position. Defense in the ground game is vital. A boxer, if he got lucky enough to mount a MMA fighter would have to 1) be able to hit him and at the same time 2) avoid getting submitted while mounted. Like I said ground game is vital. You can't pound someone when you're in a clinch/mounted.

Never wrestled before. Grapple a little though and yeah it can work even if you take a few blows you grapple and knock them down. I concede that point, so I am probably wrong. There is just so much technique in boxing that I am hard pressed to say that these guys could hurt a pro boxer, but who knows. It would be interesting to see if you are right about this. They should try to get Tyson to fight in UFC. I am sure he would for money.

Jesus Christ man, seriously, you have no idea what you're talking about. Mike Tyson WAS goign to enter in K-1 (kicks, knees, boxing), but his manager said, "I will not have my fighter get kicked in the legs." Well too bad. This is K-1, not boxing. Put Mike Tyson up against Michael McDonald (one BAD ASS K-1 figher), and he will get owned...guaranteed!

There have been pro boxers in K-1 and they did okay. They still lost. Mike Tyson was challenge multiples times by MMA fighters, and K-1 also. He also decline. Jerome Le Banner even called him out in public. Tyson has more to lose cause of his fame, not stating he was chicken but more career move at that time. Tyson is not the same anymore, so I would even think about throwing him to wolves.

Pro boxers could not fight their style of stand up with MMA guys or K-1 guys. Against an MMA guy, they would have change their stance and watch for fake/shoot being feared in gettting into double leg take down or a clinch. With a K-1 guy, they have to get their legs up to block or they knees are going to get shot to death.

Pure boxing, a boxer would kill any MMA or K-1 guy. Thats obvious. Boxing is really dam technical if anybody really tried it. Footwork, movements, you can get a dam good workout.

Former Pro boxer, not doing too shabby so far in the UFC.

It would definately be interesting. It IS definately interesting to consider why it's never happened. The thing is - there is alot of technique in boxing - but it is only suited for fighting another boxer. That's where the problem comes in. When amateur boxers have entered MMA stuff they always lose. Now a pro boxer might be "better" because he can easily beat an amateur boxer - so the skill level is noticeable. But that's only because they are playing by boxing "rules" so to speak. In MMA, multiple lines of attack/defense are the consideration.

All good points, hmmm, I guess even a pro boxer would lose to the top UFC and MMA fighters. :( Too bad, I love boxing.

Carlos Newton used to be one of my favorite fighters, but I noticed he got his ass handed to him in a couple clips from that video compilation.

These guys are trained to keep fighting until the ref stops them. Unlike boxing, you get up on your own will and then resume the fight. Also there have been less (no?) fatalities in MMA compared to boxing because of the usually excellent ref work.

He is a medical student, kinda of hard to train and become a doctor. He is thinking of fighting again this year. Also he mention thats hard to sub guys when his opponents are all on Vitamin S.

Yeah the refs in those vids really look like they know what they're doing. They usually give them a couple hits then RUSH IN like someone that really wants to die and pulls them apart. Much  for those refs.
